What should I say to my dr to get Test Blood tests?

I just spent 3 days in the hospital for an infection and they did a large number of blood tests of which i was able to see all the results. I did not see anything in regards to testosterone though and I was thinking this would be a good time to make sure my body is recovered. If I call them up and ask them to run testosterone tests is there anything specifically I need to say to get the results I want?

They would need a reason to test for testosterone. I suppose you would need to tell them you have symptoms of low t or it runs in the family, etc. A lot of low t symptoms are the same as other abnormalities (thyroid). Tell them you watched the low t commercial and you are certain you have it.

they are not going to do it unless there is a need to. And if it was a hospital for an infection there is no need too. Even if you say you have symptoms.
Also they dont save your blood. So they would have to take more blood

Just ask for a hormone panel to be done. Remember, the doctor works for you. Anytime the doctor starts acting like HE is the boos remind him who is paying the bill and you can fire him at any time and find another doctor

Most doctors will do the test. Even as a yearly check up is enough of as a reason
But your not going to call a hospital after you left. and get them to run another test unrelated to the reason you were there.

Exactly but only if you ask. Most only do the cholesterol checks and a few other if you are lucky. You need to educate yourself first on what to look for then ask your doctor to do the test or like a lot of us you wont have any idea until it's to late. It's good to have a full hormone panel including E2 once a year or every 2 or 3 years if there is not problems.
