    Anyone use Dutasteride/Avodart for Hairloss?

I'm not on cycle but my hair is receding and going a little thin behind the crown.

My hair is very thick and bushy however I can notice it getting thinner.

Would Dutasteride/Avodart at 0.5mg ED stop this?
Do I need to stay on it for life?
Will it help the receding hair or just the crown area?

I've been using dutasteride for years now and love it. .5mg eod is all I need. Keeps the receding hairline from receding.

Yes you need to be on it for life.

    I, also, use topical spiro.

unfortunately for me, I know too much about this topic.

I've tried avodart and finesteride, at one point both at the same time. I started noticing my hairline receding 16 years ago at the age of 16. First, forget about dutasteride. Yeah it blocks works on dual receptors, but you'll get a lot more sides. I didnt see any difference between using duta or finesteride. Just get a script for proscar and divide the pill up into fourths and take a quarter pill a day. Get some rogaine/minoxidil and use it twice a day. Go to the drugstore and get nizoral shampoo and use it every other day. You should see a improvement and it will maintain what you have for a while, but eventually you'll lose it anyways. All you're doing is buying time with these treatments.

me either. At one point in my life, out of desperation I was running .5 mg of duta 2x a day and 2.5 mg of proscar 2x a day. That's 1 mg of duta and 5 mg of proscar EVERY DAY! Got my bloodwork done and my dht was 6 ng/pl. The referance range is x-38. LOL. Still no sides though.

Then you have people who claim they took 1 mg of propecia for a month and have permanent ED now. Everyone's built differently. Start slow and then add more once you're sure your body can handle it is your best bet.
