Google innie and outtie shoulder exercise. Not sure what the proper name for this exercise is but it worked well and helped me resolve my rotator cuff issues.

There are a bunch of really good therapy exercises for the rotator cuff. My left has been torn twice and the right torn three times over the past 20+ years. My orthopedic doc was the shoulder specialist for the Atlanta Falcons and I begged for surgery due to the pain. He wouldn't operate but gave me a theraband to use. Almost a year for total recovery but they are close to 100% now. The key is high reps, light tension, bands not dumbbells and ALWAYS DO YOUR ROTATOR CUFF WORK. Take your time and don't neglect your therapy work even when nothing hurts.

take a 2-5lb weight, extend arms all the way out to the sides, then with arms extended do some very small circles out to the sides, like 6-12 inch diameter circles. also any other light weight high rep shoulder routines will do well. front raises, side raises, military press (careful).

Sorry to respectfully disagree Castiron but the exercies you listed, while it is true they engage the rotar cuff they do not directly strengthen and impact the cuff. There are a number of exercises but this video has some good ideas. Cuff work is imperative for those ramping up the weight on bar exercises. I throw in a 15 minute session 2 or 3x a week.

Rest first, if you have hurt it then you need a little time off before trying to strengthen it

Agreed. Warm up really well before your workouts and gently stretch afterwards. Take your time and it should heal without surgery.
