Ello again everyone - after serious consideration I'm going to try and lose as much body fat as possible in the next 10 weeks (I've already been doing it for a week, so I guess I have 9 weeks left), before I start here are a few stats
23 years old
6'1
215lbs
19% body fat
I've been lifting since I was 16/17, BUT I have been out of training/focus over the last year or so, and in that time I've put on quite a spread!
as far as diet is concerned I'm only eating carbs before and after a workout, and even then I'm consuming maybe 100 grams a day (not including green veg or beans - lots of fibre!!), my protein intake is at the moment around 320g a day (x1.5g per lb of bodyweight) and my fats are all coming from stuff like eggs, olive oil, nuts and seeds, and I'm consuming around 70/80g a day. Any thoughts on this? Should I increase/hold back on some macros?
In training I'm doing a lot of cardio, but I'm unsure when the best time of day is for which - I'm currently doing a 45m cycle, or walk, every morning before breakfast (on BCAAs) making sure my HR doesn't go over 130bpm, 6 days a week. Regarding weight training, I train at around 10am and am on a three day split (monday - legs, wedneday - push, friday - pull) and on those days i do 20/30 mins of HIIT in the evening (around 6pm). What I want to know is am I doing the fat burning/HIIT at the right times of day for maximum/effective fat burning without too much muscle loss?
So that's pretty much it, I want to get people's opinions on whether this will burn a good amount of fat without sacrificing too much muscle? I'm hoping to get down to about 14% since I have never been lower than 16%, so it'd be nice to achieve this especially after being inactive for so long!
Any thoughts/comments/opinions/questions greatly appreciated.
Peace.
