DHT cream

I am having trouble getting information on DHT cream that you get at a compounding pharmacy and apply to your penis.
I get testosterone shots now and finasteride for my hair, but my urologist said DHT is basically "the good stuff."
Does putting DHT directly on the penis lessen it's effect on the hairline? Why would you put testosterone cream on the shoulders, and DHT cream on your penis????
I'm interested if DHT cream, with or without test injections, has a more dramatic effect on mood, energy, and libido.
As well as any pertinent facts. As I said, I'm getting lots of conflicting data out there. Thanks.

First and foremost are you totally aware of the detrimental effects on your hormones and more importantly your libido that finasteride can do to you???

In my opinion Finasteride is about an evil of a drug for men ever created.

DHT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dihydrotestosterone) is without question the most potent of all of the androgenic hormones created in a mans body.

In fact, if could be argued that we don't conduct Testosterone Replacement Therapy but Dihydrotestosterone replacement therapy.

High levels of DHT is men is not where you want to be for more reasons that I can put into this response...but there are some men here who will tell you why first hand.

Putting these hormones on your penis or testicles is because the absorption rate tends to be higher then the places on the skin the drug was designed for.

In many cases this will cause a higher uptake then what the cream/gel was desigend for and therefore causing an imbalance in the rest of your androgenic pathways.

I question the wisdom of your Urologist as many of them have no clue about TRT in men...and as is evident in your current protocol.

Do your own research and you will see for your self...

I am not familiar with DHT cream.

Finasteride is another form of Propecia, used for male pattern baldness. There are a lot of articles out there regarding the side effects of these drugs; including erectile dysfunction, hormone imbalances and prostate problems.

Testosterone therapy (injections) raises your testosterone into normal ranges.

You can get it at http://www.allsaintsclinic.org/. It will not make your penis larger if that is what you are looking for. It will give you killer erections.

I don't use creams and only know a little about them.

Most people on here use injections on here because you know exactly how much you are injecting into yourself. With creams you may be putting an ounce on one time an ounce and half the next. Creams are very hard to measure for exact dosage applications.

From what I've read on creams is you can't let children and pregnant women anywhere near the creams because it can cause them a lot of bad side effects. And since you are putting it on your groin you have to make sure you completely wash it off every time before you have sex or you can cause serious hormonal problems for your female partner.

All the horror stories you hear are only from a very small % of men who take it and have side effect's. Many men take fina with no problems at all including myself.

Yes, they raise your Test levels. Test converts to dht everywhere except muscle via an enzyme called 5AR. It also converts to Estrogen as well as being bound by shbg. What isn't bound is known as your free or useful T. DHT is purely androgenic and is what makes us men, but they both have to work in harmony for the proper effect. Too much of anything is not good.

If your on TRT and looking to raise your DHT level just use a gel. Your DHT numbers will jump up dramatically. Curious what your goals are here? And welcome to the forum BTW.

Thanks, I think this is the answer I'm looking for. I have an "empty cella" pituitary, and my hormones are messed up, and I don't really have a "normal" pattern to compare to. Parts of my pituitary work and parts don't. That makes me kind of a one-of-a-kind story. My goal is too be a rich man. I'm here for the MAN part.

I've always looked young, and I'm real quiet in public. Sweating in heat, fatigue, lots of stuff I just figured was "me." It affected my thyroid, growth hormone, I get prescriptions for them, and my test just recently went into the TOO LOW range. I take Calcium for my bones, and the other three hormone initials I'm OK with. The ones that don't count. The more I learn about DHT the more I want to try it, but no, I don't want to overdo it. As long as I stay in the safe range I figure I'll be OK. I haven't even talked to my doctor about it. Or called any local pharmacies to see if they have it. I've got a couple weeks to research. Oh, I had 2 MRIs, and maybe four different verdicts, 3 said I had "small but normal" or something like that. I could go on and on or just shrug.

Is your thyroid under control now? The reason I ask is hypothyroid can cause hypogonadism. Same symptoms. Make sure that's in check before you take the leap into TRT. Ultimately you may not have to if your lucky.

Yes, thyroid is the first thing they found because I was always tired. I went through the endocrinologist who handled Chief Justice Rehnquist's thyroid cancer. He was awesome.

Awesome Dr. Remember, there are ancillaries out there that can help "jump start" your own T production and take it up a notch before you try TRT. Just a thought. And by the way, supplement with vit D if your not already. Arguably the best thing you can do to increase your bodies own level of free T. Cheap and worth every penny.

Ah, Drisdol I assume? That's what I do. Yes, D is in every cell in your body. It will reduce your SHBG level which in turn will free up more T for use.

Your DHT looks fine as is. Crisler will tell you that there is no optimum number. It's how you feel. Your in range. Remember DHT is a by-product of T so it will follow it. DHT is also a estrogen suppressor on several levels so when dht is high, normally E will be lower. It all plays together. There's no reason to test for LH/FSH anymore unless looking for some type of tumor. I'd be more interested in your current SHBG level.

What exactly is your protocol since your last test was 8 days after injection?

133mg/week test cyp. I put off a day so I could have the doctor test my high and low.
At the time I had doctors giving me contridictory information, even after I failed the pituitary stimulation test in Baltimore. I'll have to get out the books now and find out what happened.
I still have the habits of the guy with the hormonal problems, even though on paper they're pretty much resolved. It's been a while since I got out of a chair for no reason.
I think if DHT cream was what I hoped, I would have gotten more of a response here. I'll discuss it with my doctors.

Good luck with it all drM! There is a drug called Proviron which is purely androgenic (basically DHT) but not available by prescription any longer in the states. Possibly via an overseas pharmacy though. Also consider, if your up for it, splitting your dosage in half and injecting every 3.5 days for more stable levels.
