I live in Afghanistan and lucky enough to have access to a small (very limited) gym on base. My base is about a mile long and I run up it once a day before lifting. Honestly, the way my daily routines work is that I only have about a 2-3 hour convenient block to work out. This is during the day in which it's extremely dusty, there's uneven terrain, and it's about 150 degrees. I've been reading about glycogen depletion during training before weight lifting. At what point do I need to concern myself with this? I don't feel much of a difference in the weight I can handle to were I'm willing to throw the cardio away. I'm only running a mile, but with terrain and extreme heat, I'm sure my body is working significantly harder. I can't run at night for that's when I run missions. Or with these variables, is there anything other than hydration is situational awareness with the terrain I should concern myself with?
