Hey guys,
long story but i will give the shorter version. I have a very degenerative disc at l5 s1. About 40 percent space left. About 2 years ago something happened at the gym that was the straw that broke the camels back and i was in excruciating pain for about 6 months before i decided to see a Nero surgeon and get the mri done. I saw about 7 different surgeon and got a real mixed bag of opinions Most wanted to fuse the segment. At any rate i chose not to and started to do PT the McKenzie Method. This worked and made most of the disc pain go away but made my hips and lower back very sore to the point i couldnt stand sit or lay down for any period of time with out being very uncomfortable. MY PT told me it was normal and i would need to continue to do theses exercises forever. I have stopped doing them for 6 months now and my back feels better than it has in years but my hips still get very sore. My hips were never sore before doing the PT. Any ideas how to help with the hips?
