    abcess in my shoulder

i've had a buble on my shoulder for quite some time now (4-5 days) and i believed it was residue of a failled injection. it was painless to the touch. Yesterday i took a syringue and pinned in the bubble. to my surprise i was able to go very deep without feeling anything. i pulled the plunger, thick and very cloudy, white-yellow liquid filled the syringue, i pinned multiple times using multiple syringues to draw the pus and flush it down the toilet. pinning the buble using different angles, 4-5 times, i was able to draw 9 ml total!! now the buble no longer shows but im afraid the infection might progress again.

Of its infected it will usually be red and will be very hot to the touch.

If not it could be a sterile abscess, which is where the stuff you injected is trapped in a place where it can't dissipate.

If you were able to draw 9ml of fluid, it sounds like it may have been infected, so might be worth visiting the doctor. Tell them exactly what's caused it, they won't care. They will just prescribe you some anti biotics, which clears it up in a couple of days

    Good luck

If it's not hot and you're not running a fever, more than likely it will be fine. Still, it never hurts to go the Dr. just to be on the safe side.

I had one from an ingrown hair in my armpit. I didn't have a fever and it wasn't hot to the touch. Still I took some antibiotics to be safe.

Your next post on this thread better say "I went to the doctor and it's taken care of now."
