At the end of pinning while pulling the pin out a drop of blood went back into the syringe
i aspirated the site and have never had this happen
Did i inject into a vein
and if i did is it a wasted shot

How would you get a drop of blood to go BACK in the pin of the plunger was pushed forward?

I really doubt you injected a vien. Blood just happens sometimes. As long as you aspirated don't sweat it.

This is probably a dumb question but why can't you inject roids intravenously? Seems like it would be more effective and less harmful to your stomach /liver...

Not a dumb question, but a very dangerous activity. Most oil based compounds need to be injected in muscle or fatty tissue where they are absorbed slowly into the bloodstream. Oil and water don't mix, so if an oil based steroid was injected directly into your bloodstream, it would stay in suspension as tiny oil droplets. The venous circulation would transport it to your lungs, where those droplets would lodge in the capillaries. Those droplets would be slowly reabsorbed and if enough is absorbed into your lung capillaries, they can become blocked (an embolism) and it will affect your ability to transfer oxygen into your bloodstream. You would experience difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, and possibly respiratory failure. In the absence of proper O2 saturation, you would enter an anoxic state where the brain is depreived of oxygen, cardiac collaspe would occur, and you would likely die. It takes a fairly large dose of oil suspension to cause these events, but just how much is not entirely clear and I wouldn't want to test the limit myself.

. Same thing has happened to me. I think I push the plunger all the way down with some pressure at the end trying tp squeeze everylast drop and when I let off a little blood comes back in.
