Androgel and Nolvadex

So many of you have seen my posts regarding my recently tested Low testosterone which came back at 179. So I have been to two different Doctors with Two different opinions. So I’m going to stick with the new doc till Oct 1st till I test again. If my T is still low I will DEMAND injectables. What really bothers me is I asked the doc about needing any Nolvadex or any other Estrogen blockers while on Androgel … His reply was he didn’t think so but his face said “what the hell is this guy talking about?” Should I just go ahead on my own and get some? At 38 I’m reluctant to just start cycling again without knowing all the variables. But my patience is certainly running VERY THIN.

Read some stickies and such, you don't really need nolvadex while on trt if you can keep your estrogen in control with aromatase inhibitors, they are not estrogen blockers. And on the gel you tend to be less likely to need them. Not to mention if your t levels are still really low it's less likely you are converting much to Estrogen because you don't have an excessive amount in your system. All I would say to your doc is can I get complete bloodwork done, and request E2 is tested with it, should also be testing free testosterone and total testosterone. Then go form there, no point in picking up this extra stuff unless say you start getting gyno right away, which also is unlikely.

Man, I felt this way too. That is until I got bw again after a month of using Testim transdermal gel. My T levels were still laughable even after a month of use. There was no way in hell I would've needed an AI while using that sticky goo on my shoulders. I guess there are guys who are "poor absorbers" and I just happen to be one of them. With any luck you'll be all good on the Androgel. Although I'm grossly under-medicated atm, I know for a fact that the im test cyp is a way better option for me personally. Get your BW and see what kind of levels you're at and go from there. That's my plan.

Agree with Seoinage. Few people need an AI (Nolva is not an AI, it's a SERM) while on transdermals. But, as stated above it needs to be monitored just like everything else does. Keep an eye on your DHT level as gels tend to spike it up.

If you run DHT cream, you don't have to worry about estrogen conversion from my understanding.
