Is TRT that bad?

So --- Ive never really did research on TRT itself...but for those who actually have shut down their natty TEST -- is it that bad to be on TRT for life? I have a friend who never took AAS and still shut his test down...so at 40 he started Androgel.... is that the worst of it? Are there other downfalls to it? Im not looking to do it -- but if it happens should I be that worried?

As you age your HPTA will slow down and the production of your sex hormones will decline...it's just how it goes.

It's your call when and or if the time comes that you want to deploy a TRT procotol.

Do some reading on the subject. The stickies here have gotten much better and you can learn alot.

Also, there are a number of good books on the subject as well.

The only way to know how "bad" it really might be is to do your own information gathering and come to your own conclusion.

Of course, on this forum you are talking to a very biased group and we certainly don't think it's so bad... or we wouldn't be on it!

But surely there are plenty of men who weighed the pros and cons and decided against it. I don't get the feeling that they hang out on forums like this

someone mentioned that studies have shown 100% of men who die prematurely from heart attack all have one thing in common, low testosterone! so the decision is, do you want to die from a possibility of a heart attack due to low testosterone, or die from the possibility of getting cancer due to injected testosterone?!

Read Testosterone for Life by Abraham Morgentaler. If I hadn't already been reading it since before my issues started I probably would have been in a way worse place than I am now thanks to doctors not knowing shit.

So steroids have been known to cause cancer? Scary, anyone know if its injecting test, or hgh type stuff...? Anyone have more info on the cancer statistics?

i have misstated and i apologise. i should have said if you already have cancer that is not detected testosterone will make it progress faster. it will not cause the cancer.

Personally I think some of the inconveniences of TRT are comparable to something like your eyesight getting worse with age and needing reading glasses, sure it would be nice to have everything perfect naturally but what's wrong with being close to perfect with a little unnatural help? No big thing, sometimes I complain about the cost or maybe a Doctor not being too bright but I damn sure don't want to go back to the "dark days" before I started TRT.............no sir TRT aint too bad at all. By the way......At 46 I just left my wife fully satisfied for the second time today.......what's not to like about that?

i agree. But if there was a choice of being not medically needing it we would all rather have our levels normal with out having to inject.

If you really need it then its the very best way to go.TRT for life is better than shitty libido,strength,bad mood,and overall crappy feeling for life without it.imo

So far I have only found it a very slight inconvenience. I am glad I switched from gels to injections although I think my libido was slightly better on the Androgel (even though every other symptom was worse).
