    High systolic blood pressure

I am still in the process of losing some excess fat. Not on anything right now at all. But my BP seems a seems a bit odd. My Systolic BP is always right around 160. My Diastolic is just fine and comes in right under 80 or right at 80.

    Any thoughts on this?

When I was at my fattest both were a bit high, but not it's just the one.

Honestly that isn't that bad...the top number is far less important and the standard now is more about the split between the 2 numbers. I can test all over the board depending on if I just walked in to check it or if I have ben sitting for a bit. Or if I have had caffiene, or if I am a little upset or nervious

the cutoff for systolic is 140 and diastolic is 90. if either one or both of your reading is at or above these numbers, you have hypertension.

and then there are different grades of hypertension, mild, moderate, and severe, depending on how much higher your numbers are.

young, active people like you, op, i would say anything over 135/85 is not perfect. if you have 3 readings, spread over different days and different time of the day, and they are all high, or their average is high, then you have hypertension. but that doesn't mean you need to worry about meds right away.

give yourself a few months to lose some more weight and eat clean. increase cardio gradually. and review your pressure regularly. if after 6mths, after you've hit your target weight but your bp still remain high... time for meds.

This is sometimes referred to as isolated systolic hypertension, off of meds I have it to a varying degree.

Just monitor it and see, havent you lost weight?

Samson, I am serious as I can be here. Go see your Dr. If you are always normally at 160/80, that is way too high. That is what mine was at 15 and have been on daily BP meds for 15 years now. I cant tell you how much better you will feel. You dont feel as good as you think you do right now, but you will know when on the meds. When I cycle, my BP goes back up, but I have found that taking my meds at 1.5 normal dose helps. That doesnt seem too high for people who dont have issues with it, but I promise it will catch up. I had a spell a few years back when changing my BP meds that I had to be hospitalized due to stroke-like symptoms and I was reading 155/85. It is the silent killer, and for good reason. My wifes job is dealing with stroke patients, and she worries about me all the time. Of course she knows nothing about AAS use, so she doesnt understand why my BP had been raised. All is good off though. But certain meds can cause ED problems and it caused my low T at a very early age. Get it checked fot yourself and family. Good luck!

    100/70 off cycle.

    130/90 on cycle.
