I realize its a suicide inhibitor but I still don't fully understand what that means. And I just don't see how it can be that much better than arimidex, or worth paying $25 more. Could anyone explain?

They are working differently and having different positive/negative effects. I'd always go with arimidex no matter what but that is my personal choice. Health-related, arimidex is much better.

I like armidex. If infact it does cause joint distress, adjust your dose and it should immediately go away. Good Luck, and good question. Not many new guys bother with an AI. You onyour way to being intellegent here!
