    Dumbbell Deads.........

Anyone ever do 'em? What do you think? Like 'em?

I can't bend my back as you would with a barbell, but thinking of giving the dumbell deads a go for the money.

    Any thouughts?

Trying to picture this. Would you be lifting with the weights to your sides with a more upright posture through your back then?

Deads are one of my favorites.

But the dumbbell ones seem to hurt me more. Seems I can't keep the form like I can on bar. They seems to hit different areas of back and such

Would you do the one leg db deads or just pretty much the same as bb just with dbs?

I've done the one leg, it's kind of an awkward movement, then again most new excersizes are, you can't go with very heavy with them but they take some stress off your knees and back

I'm in camp right now and all I have are my power blocks. DB deads definitely have a different feel but they are better than nothing.

Times do you have a lifting frame if so you could take the bar up to 18 inch and you wont need to bend and you still get the full deadlift might be better than DB lifts

not as much in front as a bb, but not quite in line with your feet as well.

Couldn't the safety bars on squatting racks be used as a lifting frame??

And I personally enjoy DB deads. I arch my back as much as possible and bend down like i'm going to touch my toes keeping my back as straight as I can. I can typically do bout 15-20 reps with 50lbs in each hand. I always get a real nice burn and pump from this. It feels safer for me to do them this way, I'm always really careful with my back.

I also do Rack Pulls which I think is what you're talking about with a lifting frame?

i think i can go that route at 24hour. as long as the bar is above the knee, i think i'll be alright. i run into trouble when the bar is below the knee.

I like to use db's on SLDL's but prefer the bar on your standard deads. Love that hex bar as well, especially when doing shrugs!
