Thoughts on us owning an online HRT clinic?

I'm working on starting an online HRT clinic and would like to know your thoughts?

Nothing set in stone, but if/when it happens it will be at LowTestosterone.com and offer Testosterone/Growth Hormone/HCG Diet programs. Should also specialize in HRT for women, but I am putting all of that together still and I am in the learning phase.

Just wanted to get feed back to see who would be interested and get any other thoughts. Thanks!

Seriously, talk about major responsibility. Find out how much malpractice insurance will run as there will always be one in the bunch who wants to cause an issue. Other than that I think it would be great for our members and look at all the responses on here saying about how difficult it is to find a damned doc who is even willing to prescribe gel let alone injections or hgh. So there definitely is a market for you. But it will be a great undertaking so if you got the time and money and initiative, go for it. All I can say is move over Dr. Crisler..lol

Interesting. Will it be for the U.S. only? How will it address the required Doctor-Patient relationship that seems to be troubling other HRT firms these days?

As the owner of the company, I am not on the hook for the doctors who write the scripts so I would not need such insurance. I am the middle man who pays a board certified HRT specialist who then submits to doctor for script. This would all be legit of course, but these would be paid doctors and PA's who would be 1099. I am up for a challenge and we have the resources to make this a huge, well run clinic.

We may be tapped into a network of 1800 doctors nation wide. That is what I am working on now.

At the moment I am only focused on HRT for the United States.

If you had legitimate doctors and experts in the field then that would be good. I wouldn't use it unless it took my insurance.

But if its like some of the other "forum famous" "HRT clinics" which are basically pill mills then I am strongly against those. Those are a black eye for the HRT community IMO.

Only advice I would offer is to learn from the mistakes of other clinics that have been shut down or otherwise had issues. Over-prescribing being first and foremost. Titrating medications both up and down when required. Not just hit and run prescriptions. Then actually showing concern for the on-going care of clients/patients.

This will be 100% by the book and run correctly. Its actually not that difficult from what I am seeing so far.

Great idea and your right it's not all that hard, I'm a medical sales rep myself and some doctor friends are looking into starting an HRT practice together. We are looking at doing an actual brick and mortar practice at first just local then expand to the web.
But you are right it’s not all that involved once the logistics are in place.

I think it's an interesting concept but would like to know the revenue model.

First thoughts are that given the total number of licensed physicians out there only a very small percentage understand/have proper diagnosis and medical management skills for men and women who are hormone deficient. And those who are trained correctly are usually in their own practice making a killing right now so I'd think it may be a challenge finding the right Docs for this type of business model.

The revenue model needs to be monetized correctly to incent the right Physicians to become a part of this new business platform.

Once that financial component is understood, does it still make sense from a ROI perspective to form a NEWCO?

True, from what I gather the law requires at least the first visit to be face to face with a doctor. But bc is talking about having a network of docs in each state. After the first visit I believe you can do meetings over the net with video.

Gd from this quote I gather that the network of 1800 would merely be prescribing as guided and used solely forty script writing and face to face visits

Yo easy there JV. We have to have a little over prescribing. You know for like maybe accidents like accidentally dropping the loaded needle in the toilet right before being able to inject. And maybe a bottle was accidentally left on its side and leaked some out. Or if a person aspirated and pulled their blood back into the syringe and did not want to re-inject their own blood combined with the test back into their muscle. So it wouldn't hurt to have some extra prescribed.. Say like 10ml bottle per month... Sounds good to me, especially if it is written in a way that the insurance would cover it. Man I think i'm getting low-T already....lol
