On a bulking diet it shoukdnt be much of a problem, but on a cutting diet it wouldn't be advised.
I wouldn't worry too much about where your carbs are coming from on a bulk. As long as its not soda, syrups, jellies, candies, etc. you should be okay. I incorporate whole grain pasta and marinara sauce into my own bulk. If you are trying to put on mass it is probably more important to make sure you are hitting your macros everyday. Just my 2 cents.
