Great side delt exercise - video

So I had a play around with these one arm upright rows yesterday and my side delts are completely smashed today... It has really hit them deep and hard..

I performed them a bit differently and simply added them at the end of a set of side laterals once I had reached failure and man the pump was crazy.... You have to try these out...

I basically hit failure on DB sider raises (both arms at the same time)... I then did these one arm upright rows alternatively... I mixed it up a bit so I may do 4 reps per arm and then go the the other arm... Once I got near failure on each arm I then did them at the same time to really burn the sh*t out of my delts....

Check this video out by jim Cordova... I may add a video of my own set when I do them next week...

I found this really good guys... I didnt even go heavy, just did it after side rises in a superset style.... Side delts are still throbbing, feels like I have pinned them both with prop..

Here is another Jim cordova delt video... Great guy

He made a great point about rotator cuff work. I've seen so many people suffer RC injuries, mainly supraspinatus injuries.

Yep I agree w/ you baseline! I saw this video posted about a month ago and have since incorporated these one arm db upright rows into my workout and love this exercise. I like you have supersetted these w/ side raises. I get a great pump off these and they are way easier on my shoulders (from an injury standpoint).

Tried these today straight after single arm lateral raises, was hitting around 8-10 reps on the laterals and then went right into 8 reps of - intense pump in the side cap and trap area. Will know more tomorrow to see if i'm tender

They worked well for me... I will add them this week as an exercise in there own right and see how they feel...

I think this is a great movement for people with shoulder injurys...

Let is know how the side delts feel 2moro... U know when u have hit them good cuz it feels like a prop shot since its just in the one head

Did these last night myself as well. My favorite part is that it was MUCH easier on my wrists. That felt good. I think I will continue with this method. Thanks baseline.

Yes I agree 100% which is good because my right wrist has been problematic here lately.

Exactly. Yes. I don't think I'll pick up a barbell for upright rows again.

Wow So simple yet I never thought of this. Thanks baseline. Wish Id seen this a few hours ago as I did Delts today and just threw a bunch of 1 arm cable lat raises at the side delts after a bunch of 2 arm Db lat raises.

What kind of weights you guys using? I've found that a 60 lb. db works great when I superset these with db side raises. Might try to do these db upright rows on their own tomorrow so I can pull some heavier weight.

Are you doing these before the side raises in the superset or after....

I think that doing these first to failure and then doing a big drop down in weight and then doing aside laterals would be a great superset

I was just doing them after the sides tho with the weight I used for side laterals which is never that great.... Usually up to about 35lbs

I am going to try these tonight. My wrists have a hard time with barbell raises, so maybe these will help.

Started incorperating these afew months back after finding this exact video. Have to say they have definitely added some mass to my delts. Good find.

I really liked this exercise, but it sort of feels like it puts more stress on my shoulder than just a normal side delt exercise like dumbbell lateral raises or low pulley raises. I tried the above exercise at the gym, and it just felt like it was putting strain on my tendons in my shoulder if that makes sense, felt like it was hurting in a bad way as opposed to a good way.

I will add that I have tried these as a stand alone exercise and I prefer them as a superset after DB side laterals...

I've done these first before db side raises (superset) and also done db side raises followed by these db upright rows (superset)...I like to mix it up. Did these db upright rows as a stand alone exercise on Friday and worked my way up to 75 lbs. db...got a nice burn from these but I think I prefer to use these in the superset format.
