I am trying to educate myself about the stars of the HRT world, and their differences. Also, I am interested in where they are located. Although I live in Canada, it turns out I am not *that* far from Crisler. I am new to the game, but here are four names I keep seeing, with there locations:
Mark L Gordon - Encino, California
John Crisler - Lansing, Michigan
Eugene Shippen - Reading, Pennsylvania
Michael Scally - Houston, Texas
Can anyone add to this list?

It's either that Scally is not a medical doctor, or he lost his license. Either way, I don't think he contributed anything to the field. I haven't come across anything he contributed or contributes at least. He is not allowed to treat patients I believe.
Dr Mariano out of California is another good HRT doc. He is a psychiatrist by training but treats hormones extensively.
Dr Dach out of South Florida is another notable figure. He has a good blog/site as well.

I said I didn't ever hear of him from anything authoritative. I've seen his name mentioned mostly in mud-slinging stuff that I don't really bother with.
I'd be more than willing to read his research or theories about HRT though if you wanted to make a thread about it.

Scally was an absolute JERK and although we had a business relationship at one point, he treated me like a criminal. He is not licensed and I have not seen him offer much of anything

All the pie throwing in the world won't change that he is incredibly intelligent. I respect that, although I may not agree with a lot of people here. I will still defend people whom I consider to be intelligent even if I do not like them! Call him a JERK all you want. His credentials and education overshadows 100% of the guys here.

It's a sad thing that you feel that way. Now, lets say if a certain medical doctor of another forum whose name is in this thread got accused of domestic violence. Isn't it a shame that his name is tainted and his work may be discredited for something unrelated to his work?
Brownie points if you understood the bold of names joke. As a certain doctor did so in a weird fashion on his forum.

I'll chime in. That question is a double edged sword. Yes, it can. Reason is integrity. Certain levels of skills and professional certifications come with high expectations and standards of conduct. Both on the job and off. Sometimes things cannot be seperated as much as we would like them to. Current example: General David Petraeus.
Interesting philosophical discussion though.

Check top 10 president lists and you will see Bill Clinton's name on many of them. I think that proves my case. We can make poor choices in our personal life, but still be a damn good professional.

I don't "hate" anybody; but I think Kel makes a good case as do you Sworder with your point as well...all cases need to be judged on thier own merits.
I don't hate Crisler; I don't know him.
I do know people that do know him and thier views and opinions of him are not generally very positive to be honest.

With the right marketing... You can make just about ANY mediocre "professional" an INDUSTRY LEADER. Just because people SAY you are an industry leader and then many many others parrot that statement... does NOT make it true. It just means that within a certain circle that person has made a name for his/herself and 9 times out of 10, it has NOTHING to do with his/her actual accomplishments or skill. It has to do with perception.
An egotistical, cocky, abusive, jerk for example (in MY opinion only) has a long way to go to be considered a "LEADER" in anything positive.
Everyone has the right to agree or disagree, but I would think that most of you would have to agree with at least some of that?

Yes, definitely I can agree that "hype" is a large part of the game, as it is with any product, service or person.
I try to stay away from personal bias, but if I am asked for my opinion I will have it reflect the query.
For example: "Do you like the taste of apples?" "Yes, they are delicious BUT the color of them is awful" The BUT displaying added and unsought information.

aint this the damn truth.i cant count how many times ive been told by people that endocrinologist x is an incredible dr or he is one of the best, only to have me depressed and furious after seeing how shitty he really was.

Dr. Rothenberg is where I go. He ain't cheap and a bit self serving, but he definitely is one of the leaders in the field and has trained alot of the other top HRT Doc's out there. He actually has written a book for aspiring HRT Docs.
