    Testosterone & Pericarditis??

Hey just i just recently started my test e cycle, im 2 weeks into it @ 500mg p/w. I have a log posted over at the members cycle results section..

    Anyways,

Over the weekend i went to the hospital with chest pains and difficulty breathing was was kept there over night. They did many blood tests, ECGs and ultrasounds of my heart and they told me i had pericarditis.

The ECGs came back good and the ultrasound showed my heart was beating fine. They told me it wasnt linked to test use and told me to take at least a week off training.
Has anyone else had experience with this after starting a cycle?

Im going to take there advice on having a week or so off but just want to know what peoples thoughts are on continuing the cycle or stopping it? would really appreciate the VETs advice here

    Thanks

Is this an actual cycle or an HRT?
What else are you taking (AI?)
Are you using any stimulants, fat burners, pre-workout supplements?

The long term effects of steroids haven't been thoroughly studied, so it's anyone's guess. Just because the problem occurred it dosen't automatically mean gear is the culprit, any family history of heart issues?

well it happened 10 days after testosterone use, that being test e which leads me to beleive its nothing to do with the gear.
Yea bit of family heart issues, ive been reading alot into it and from what i can gather its almost always caused by a virus or flu..hvnt found any links between testosterone use and acute pericarditis :\

I have yet to see anything linking anabolics to pericarditis. That doesn't mean there is no link, I just haven't come across it. Many believe long term use will impact cardiac function but it may be an indirect cause vis-a-vis hypercholesterolemia, HTN, or other issues that if untreated become issues for cardiac health. I believe there are also correlations between anabolics and ventricular capacity/volume but causality cannot be established since there are many factors in body building that contribute to changes in heart function. Heavy lifting and rapid weight gain are heart stressors too.

my heart attack was so weird...the only warning sign was heartburn(almost daily)(mild to moderated at that) for about 2 months...and i hadnt had ANY heartburn in 15 years no exageration

but the heart attack i accredit to congenital factors....although my cholesterol ratios were always good to almost impressive..i had known i had high lipoprotein A which is the genetic precursor to cardiovascular disease...my triglycerides were also unusually high around the time of the heart attack..where they were ALWAYS under 100, they had reached around 200

This is not a steroid related incident, nor would could it possibly be so with a mere 10 days of use. Under normal circumstances, the two-layered pericardial sac that surrounding the heart contains a small amount of lubricating fluid. In pericarditis, the sac becomes inflamed and the resulting friction from the inflamed two layers manifests itself as chest pain. In most cases doctors are either unable to determine a cause (idiopathic) or suspect a viral infection, both of which are treated with medication. What were you given?

yea doctors couldnt tell me the cause, they told me its most likly a virus :/.

i was given ibuprofen and cholchicine and pantoprazole. Its been almost a week and there is no pain anymore, i have a follow up cardiologist appointment on monday morning were hopefully i will be given the OK to get back to training.
Thanks for your input i was fairly certain that it wasnt from testosterone use but having experienced guys advice is always good

Hey this has happened to me twice where Iv gotten pericarditis from gear, and years apart I'm living proof that there is a link, all depends on the person Iv got heaps of mates that have never got those effects on gear, but the general public should be aware...
