18 year old male whose testosterone levels are at 136 HELP

So I got some blood work done and I asked my doc to check my t levels out of curiosity. The results came in and they aren't good, the total t was at 136 ng/l. This is absurdly low for someone my age, what should I do? I have a beard, I have a male physique, I do have some thigh fat and love handles though. My sex drive fluctuates but it isn't non existent, I do masturbate regularly as well. Possible screw up on the doc's part?
A few extra tidbits of information : I did masturbate an hour and a half before the visit, it was 6PM. Also I had low vitamin d levels on the lab report as well. But how low can it really get, 132 seems absurdly low for someone my age even if my vitamin d levels are insufficient.

I am taking no m_eds I exercise daily, although when I get too much school work, I stop for a few days and catch up on my hw. I eat pretty well, mostly chicken and various veggies. Like I said my vitamin d levels were low on the blood report along with my total t levels. But honestly I can't see them dropping SO low, 132 is the t levels of a 75 year old man so this is something really absurd.

He said he doesn't know anything about this, all he could see was that my T levels were out of the reference age. I told him he should take a cortisol and free testosterone test to see if it could be something else causing the problem, kind of ridiculous I have to tell my doctor what to do because he doesn't know.

Get a new doctor or have him recommend a doctor that is familiar with TRT

Almost everyone has low vit d levels. Its not that. Find a endo that specialty is trt. You also need bloodwork on other things to see what is going on.
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

You really think that would be necessary, supplementing T for the rest of my life? What do you think is the liklihood it is just that low d levels that made it drop so absurdly low?

What type of endo should I seek, there a whole bunch of them, some specializing in thyroid disorders, pituitary disorders et. there isn't one for TRT though.

    Mate,

before you get yourself all in a panic, stop and think! You have told us you do not exhibit the symptoms typically associated with low T.

so before you start thinking of going down this path you and others are thinking, read this and consider:

    1. Do you have a decrease in libido (sex drive)?
    2. Do you have a lack of energy?
    3. Do you have a decrease in strength and/or endurance?
    4. Have you lost height?
    5. Have you noticed a decreased "enjoyment of life"?
    6. Are you sad and/or grumpy?
    7. Are your erections less strong?
    8. Have you noticed a deterioration in your ability to play sports?
    9. Are you falling asleep after dinner?
    10. Has there been a recent deterioration in your work performance?

If you answer yes to question one or seven, or at least three of the other questions you may have symptoms associated with low testosterone levels.

Bottom line, is don't get yourself all riled up simply because of a test result. Focus on the symptoms, not the number.

I have mood swings and a degree of anxiety that may or may not be related to my t levels, it is hard to say. These things run in my family so it might just the genetic component causing these symptoms rather than t levels themselves.

hormone replacement. Start calling endo's and asking them if that is something they treat

Get tested in the morning (ideallt 7-9AM).... get a couple days of good night sleep (atleast 7 hrs) before and don't spank the monkey before you go.

See a doc man. There may be some underlying issue causing this. If not then worse case you get to be on steroids the rest of your life which may not necessarily be a bad thing hehe.

lion, you need to get an MRI done before you even think about taking any medication. See another doctor

There's no reason for your T levels to be that low for your age. No matter your diet or sleeping habits. I'd see an endocronologist, have one more test done in the morning and go from there.

Yes you definatly want to follow up with an Endo who specializes in this area. There are a lot of reasons for low testosterone (particularly at your age) that can be rectified by other means than testosterone replacement. Also I would definatly want a second test done a few weeks later just to ensure that the first was accurate.

PS If you want in the mean time repost your thread in the HRT section of this forum, there are guys there who have a great deal of knowlege in this area and can give you all the other possible causes of low test, the smart guys are the ones who do not think a low score means instant TRT for life.

If you planned on using steroids at any point (and I assume you do since you are posting on this site), now would be the time to start. You don't want to waste the prime years of your life getting all the miserably depressing side effects of low testosterone

Sorry I didn't read all the replies. Even if he thinks he "feel fine", however, something tells me he would feel 100x better if his test levels were in the 600-800 range. I had this problem before too

I do feel my quality of life could certainly improve, perhaps it is good then that I found out I have low t? Only time will tell, but if this is the case, some of the other problems(psychological) I thought I had could be explained

It is very good that you found out. Low T is a serious problem, especially long term. I am not one of those guys that thinks you will have all sorts of problems if you start juicing at 18. I have seen absolutely no evidence or proof to suggest that to be the case. If you feel like crap and want to start taking test, I see no reason to wait a few years. Hope everything turns out ok.

    My 2 cents
