    How risky is it to...

How risky is it to push the needle further into the muscle while injecting? Keep in mind I DIDN'T do this on purpose...but basically I started with the needle about 1-1.25 inches deep into my quad, and ended with it all the way in. I keep a pretty steady hand while injecting but I guess I just pushed it down without noticing. Also, yes I know the really easy solution is to just push it all the way in to begin with - derp. Now that we have that out of the way though...is the only risk that I might push it into a vein while going deeper/injecting? How bad would it be to inject into a vein under the above circumstances

This is purely for my own personal knowledge....not because I think I've found the best method ever to inject...Thanks.

No biggie..as long as your thick enough to allow you to bury it then no prob. I still have a needle break phobia (even though it's nearly impossible) so I leave a bit out and it floats in and out a bit as I'm pushing on the plunger. It's still in the muscle so your fine!

That's why we always say to bury the needle then aspirate. Takes wondering if you're in a vein completely out.

I always aspirate, but I guess I thought if I pushed further down that I might enter a vein...admittedly, I don't know much about our physiological make-up but it seemed to make sense to me at the time I posed the question.

I worry if I push too far I would hit the bone, I assume that would hurt?

That thought has crossed my mind as well but I just never push the needle towards where my bones are. I always pin in the quadrant on the outside of my leg closest to my torso.

New guys and needles crack me up!

    1) Make sure your using good sterilizing procedure

    2) Make sure you asperate

Believe me, if you hit a nerve...you will know. If you hit a vessel and are asperating...you will know!

Other than this stop worrying so much lol

Ha ha. Unless you are using a needle and injecting the top of your foot or wrist, you shouldnt hit a bone. If you can hit a bone in your quad, shoulder, bicep, or glute with a 1 incher, your are not big enought to use AAS.

Its good to worry...just not stress. One makes you safer the other causes mistakes.

    It's a good thing I'm easily amused....squirrel

the body is a fairly forgiving piece of meat. you are worried about pushing in the needle 1/4" too much, and we have (female hero) junkies that can survive 10 years of dirty, dull needles, putting who knows what kind of crap into their arms, barely eating, sleeping on the cold ground, and sharing needles.

Mate, I think you are probably good.

Hey! What about using the same dirty needle for 10 years? Just use alcohol pad it after each use...
