Would my wife benefit from test?

    Hello ladies.

I could use some advice for more wife.

    Background....

My wife {37yo} has lost about 130 pounds. She has gone from around 290 to 160 on a low carb, high protein diet. She looks great now but has really low muscle mass. She is far from a gym rat but does walk for excercise and is looking to firm up a bit doing mild resistance training like squats and situps.

    So our question is this....

It am on TRT and have plenty of extra Test cyp. Would it benefit her to take a small dose of test?
Her goal is to continue to lose fat while gaining some lean muscle mass.
If so, what dose would you recommend? 25mg a week?
She is also wondering how/if test will alter her monthly cycle.

    Any advice will be appreciated..

    Thank You

Not at all.... M going through a cycle of var now... I would recommend you follow that over the next few weeks, Im have minor side effects and I've already gained a great amount of muscle and I still look feminine but I lift weights a lot. I'm also adding clen into the cycle... I would watch that over the next few weeks before putting her on test... I have a few female friends who do body building and they take tests and they look like dudes, I still look like a chick but I look athletic, huge difference.

    Test*

Var was originally designed for women and children when it came out and the rec starting dose is 5mg - 10mg for a female. Imagine putting her on 25mg of test when I'm on 12.5 mg of var and I have visible muscles from it.

Btw, I think this is in the wrong section, I believe other people will give you their opinions which would be member cycles.. I put mine under here when I first started too but I think this is just to introduce yourself.

I will check out the other forums for sure! So,So far anavar would be he recommened AAS for her goal?
Again, she is not looking to bulk up,but continue to lose fat and gain a little muscle mass.
She is doing a good job as is but if a little outside androgen would help, she is open to it.

Welcome Mr and Mrs. Silverspoke and congrats on the incredible weight lost...incredible! I have never done a cycle so can't comment on Test impact for gals, but seems that most non BB women types aren't reaching for Test as a first option. Anavar is going to have limits since your gal isn't the workout type, however, working out is the best way to add muscle and she doesn't need to me a gymrat to gain muscle. If she is at 160 lbs and limited muscle, seems she might still have some benefit from dialing in the nutritional, although seems likely she knows how to do that given the amazing results she has been having with diet alone!

As Electra mentioned, you may wish to create a new post with similar information in the members cycle results.

    ^^^^^^this.

She won't gain muscle if she doesn't lift no matter what. So set her up with a resistance programme and ensure her diet is geared around her goals.

If you are both concerned about her hormone levels then get some bloodwork done.

It works but like everyone said you have to lift... That's how you'll see results. I think what someone else said get her diet and lifting in check and used to it and then consider it as a vehicle to help her reach her goals but the way to achieve her goals... It's all about balance. I think everyone gave you accurate advice. This is an awesome place to learn and get support and if you do anything, give 110% which includes dieting, lifting, cardio. It sounds like she's been doing that. I can relate 100%. I lost over 55lbs from dieting and lifting, I'm not the biggest cardio bunny out there but my decision for using aas was because I'm planning on competing in bodybuilding in a few months. As for diet and exercise that alone got me into great shape with nice curves, I'm just looking for a harder look at this point. That's why others are asking what her goals are because steroids can drastically change your body so the image she may have might be achievable through diet and exercise but if she's striving for an andrea brazier look then she may lean towards aas. I think it's great how far she has come. Good luck!

    Three words for you:
    A NA VAR

Giving a woman testosterone is not a good idea.
and I wouldnt put her on 5-10 I would put her on twenty.

She will not BULK UP on Anavar. She WILL add some nice quality lean muscle mass while dropping fat as long as her diet and exercise support those goals. TESTOSTERONE is highly androgenic and will bulk her up and possibly cause some other unpleasant sides depending on the dose.

If she wants more muscle tone, get her on the weights... walking isn't going to cut it. Once she is committed to her training then think about adding anavar (absolutely not test!).

I would make sure her diet and training is bang on before introducing her to AAS.

She is incredible with what she has done so far, I think she will have fantastic results once she starts hitting the weights!

Testosterone for female weight loss is definitely not advised. There are oral androgens that can produce similar results with less side effects, such as stanozolol, methenolone, and oxandrolone. Some studies with oxandrolone show that the weight loss that occurs while taking this can be more permanent that without. However, there are non-AAS options as well.

Of course, a change in diet and reduction in caloric intake will have the most profound effects, especially coupled with exercise. This is definitely the best approach. But I'm guessing your wife is looking for an additional boost.

Did she consider growth hormone or the ECA stack? I know some women who've had excellent results with hGH, exercise is needed of course.

The ECA stack (Ephedra, Caffeine, and Aspirin) has been clinically proven to cause weight loss, even in the absence of exercise (although results will be greatly enhanced with exercise). However, ephedra is no longer available bc of safety concerns. Synthetic ephedra is still available as ephedrine. You can get ephedrine under the brand names Bronkaid and Primatene tabs in most pharmacies. Bc of the potential detrimental effects and deaths attributed to ephedra use (although controversial) , you should definitely consult with her physician before starting this regimen.

There's a new weight loss drug out called Qsymia, available by prescription. It's a combination of controlled release topiramate and phentermine, which are both available separately as generics. This increases metabolism via phentermine and suppresses appetite via topiramate. This can only be taken under a doctor's supervision of course.

There are other prescription weight loss agents available with limited efficacy, but independent results can vary dramatically. The list includes Dexedrine, Bontril, Desoxyn, and Didrex. They are all amphetamine derivatives with definite safety concerns and abuse potential. It would be hard to find a doctor willing to prescribe any of these.

Is she on combo testosterone/estrogen therapy for peri-menopausal symptoms? Or is it part of her wt loss regimen? Also is her test/estro therapy individually compounded or commercially available, like Estratest? I'd like to hear more about it. I'm not trying to hijack this thread, it seems pertinent to the OP as well.

Sorry I reread the OP and must have confused it with another thread.,Please disregard the weight loss info above. That being said, giving her testosterone alone is definitely not a good idea, and the other androgens I mentioned will yield better overall results (keeping her feminine).

Female HRT is a really tricky area and as Lunk1 mentioned above, if she's going to take testosterone she'll probably need some form of estrogen as well as it is needed to preserve the estrogen to testosterone ratio in the female body.

My wife has taken Winstrol for about a 6 weeks total, started at 5mg and increased to 10mg per day with no side effects. She also tried 10mg per day of Anavar for about 6 weeks too, also with no side effects. She didn't do enough resistance training to get the full benefits of either so I encouraged her to stop.

My wife can't take hGH or I would've recommended that to her. But I think taking any of this stuff is senseless without trying resistance training alone (with proper diet) first. The results obtained within the first year of weight training are often very impressive anyway.

Her therapy is Estratest...she has not gone through menopause (41). Mainly labido issues being the major complaint! She just recently did BW for the first time since being on. (nearly 8 months or so I believe). When I get my hands on them I plan to post in a number of locations her pre and during BW results!

First thing she should do is obtain a complete female hormone panel via blood work. Review and go from there....

To me its way to early to even consider hormones to improve her current stats. Unless of course taking bloodwork as Kelkel said reveals a deficiency, however from the OP's post this does not seem to be his concern.

Also if you do find a deficiency I would suggest you look into bioidentical creams instead of estra/test or a home brew combo of conjugated estrogen and test or another AAS as oral test increase C-reactive protein which leads to an increase in the risk of cancer in women, although in all honesty the increase in risk of cancer (usually 2-3%) from HRT is fairly low from awhat I have read.

I read your PM FFM and thank you. I did see that as well about the cancer and the % of chances it may occur! I cant wait to get her before and during BW results to post on here as there is so much interests in female HRT especially Test repclacement!

You know ther is one thing I have a problem with, and this really strikes me as sexist.

In this whole discussion of HRT with estro/test, No one has ever so much as mentioned the danger to the male....
I mean the increase in female libido and resultant sexual aggression alone could represent a serious danger to the physical as well as psychological well-being of someone my age!!

Test is absolutely not good for a woman unless she wants to be a bodybuilder and basically turn into a dude...Let's just put it this way, transgenders who want to be a man take testosterone...They grow beards, deep voice, male pattern baldness, acne, increase size of clit, shrinking breast size....list goes on and on...

Like they say, anavar is a good choice for women....

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Agree with this 100% Test is absolutly a no go for women. Test is a male hormone and introduced into a females body will cause her devolop male characteristics. If shes is going to consider any AAS, then var is they way to go. HOWEVER, she is still going to have to go the gym, no if, ans, or buts. Or else shes just wasting her money on the var, and not with just the little 5lb dumbells either., shes gonna need to have the discipline to really push herself if theres gonna be any chance of building muscle. THERE IS NO EASY WAY OUT. AAS or no AAS, no gym is just simply not an option

No, no, no. And no anavar, either. Seriously? Get her ass in the gym and start lifting. She is 37 now? Check back when she turns 40, has been training intensely the entire time with her diet dialed in. Forget about anavar or anything else until then. See you in 2015.

I actually wrote a post on this in the female forum... For medical purposes a female dosing for minimal sides is one injection once every two to four weeks... If she's looking for a comp change test isn't the way to go unless she wants masculine traits and then needs to juice more frequently

You must be very proud of her after that kind of lifestyle transformation... keep supporting her and she will get where she wants to be.. these ladies know so much about extracting that last little bit of perfection out of a physique. Im sure your girl will be where she wants to be in no time.

Welcome!! I am new here but I've been doing A LOT of reading on testosterone for women in the past two days. I know it isn't an simple answer.

I know it all depends on what your levels are now and what you want to accomplish and what you're willing to do. I am deficient in testosterone. It barely read on my blood test. So supplementation is okay to get me into a normal range for a women. I need test! How much I can take before I start growing hair on my face is the question!!

So it's not a straight up no. Id say it depends. What's her test levels now?
