    Your Gut Instinct?

I've always been one to go with what my gut tells me. Whether I'm in a shitty situation...or if someone just isn't a good person.
    And, its never been wrong.

Anyone else go with what their gut is telling you?

Everyday, all day! I trust my gut feeling 100%. That being said...some things change over time and I still have ended up disappointed or let down.

You guys should check out a guy named Eugene Gendlin, he talks about felt sense, ""a special kind of internal bodily awareness … a body-sense of meaning". It's really interesting and looks into that "gut instinct" and it's meaning to you and the world around you. After reading this guys stuff and watching some videos I've really learned to trust my gut, every time I ignore it it ends up being a mistake, and a success when I follow it.

Heres a link that gives a break down of his work: http://www.embodiment.org.uk/topics/felt_sense.htm

I go with my gut instinct under 2 circumstances. 1- It is so strong I simply can not go against it. 2- Everything else (pros and cons) are equal and its the deciding factor.

Yes. Selling cars with my dad I discovered I can generally know a lot about someone simply from one conversation. He has it to. Don't know what it is but I seem to be better at it than most.

Rarely, if I did I'd have made some poor decisions and when I do, the decisions I make are usually bad ones. Since using logic more things have been working out better.

My gut has saved my life (literally) several times in my life & on a particular occasion, my gut saved the lives of my team mates (military). And it is still one of my most valuable tools I utilize even in my current career.

Around the world it is known that the brain is in the head...............but I say it's in the gut.............always go with the gut.

Yes and I have actually been burned a couple of times when I didn't follow my gut instinct on someone and gave them the benefit of the doubt that they were a decent honest person. To everyone out there if you get a vibe on someone that they are sketchy go with it they usually are in that scenario.

I don't want to wierd the forum out but I have been in dangerous situations a couple of times. I had one instance and I don't want to go into detail but I will say this. Sometimes in a movie theres a scene where a character figures out that another character in the car with them or in a restaurant has set them up to be shot or beat up. So the would be victim does something like call their brother and tell them they are at such and such place with such and such person who wanted to hang out out of the blue. I had something like that happen where I feel I possibly saved my life just by saying the right thing. Always go with your gut. People who commit crimes against other people tend to be the biggest cowards you'll ever meet and they are scared to death of jail or retaliation.

Look who showed up at the party! =)

I don't know K. It all depends on the situation. If a personal relationship issue, then the gut is usually a pretty good indicator. If in a business environment, and due to my profession, I need to adhere to a rational approach. I may intuit a solution, but I better be able to back it up rationally.
