    Projector VS TV

Which do You prefer? Are there any setbacks that I should be aware of, projector would replace a 46" LCD, not right now maybe by the end of the year lol, but I am planning for the future.

If you're planning for the future wait until you can see 4K TV. They had some sets at the Consumer Electronic Show and I guess it blew a few minds. I'm sure you'll pay a pretty penny for it though.

Plasma if you are going for picture quality. Projector is only as good as its screen; you'll spend more on the screen (a good one) than the projector itself. LED/LCD's suck for picture quality until you get up to the very high end tv's.

4K TV's aren't worth the money. The only way a 4K TV matters is IF the movie itself was shot in 4K resolution which most are not (as of today). I wouldn't even touch 4K for at least another 3-5 years.

The biggest bang for the buck today in respects to picture quality are gonna be Panasonic plasma, both VT30 and VT50 series TV's. Get them ISF Calibrated and you CANNOT get a better picture than that anywhere without spending $30K+ on a display.

^^^^^The Force is strong in this one.
4k is the new HDTV early adapters will get screwed. Price is ridiculous. Cable providers aren't sure how to get the bandwidth needed for the picture to homes yet. File size is crazy for 4k with some movies being around 500gb each.

I just got back from the Consumer Electronics Show and I am in love with the new Curved TV. That thing is sexy! But to answer, I prefer a TV. Ill save the projector for when I can build a home theater room.

Yea- last year all those people got in on the last day of CES and a bunch of my friends flew in after the show and we spent the whole weekend partying. :-)

Been going to CES since 1999. Same show every year... haven't seen anything that's been special in a long time. Its not the same as it was in early 2000's.
