    a liitle confused

on when the best time you want to release insulin in the body....would it be before during or after workout? Besides injecting it what would be the best way to do this? thanks

I really dont think you can manipulate insulin release with simple carbs enough to have an impact on your physique. I think you can with slin, but not with sugar.
As far as times upon waking and post workout are pretty important times imo.

^^ this. I'd go a step further to say if you're looking to add mass, keeping insulin levels elevated (note I didn't say peaked) several hours PWO would be a good idea.

For one, cortisol is elevated upon waking... insulin will help blunt the negative impact. Second, you've been fasted all night, so first thing upon waking is an ideal time to 'flood' your system with nutrients as you'll be more sensitive... the presence of insulin (i.e. carbs) will make that process even more efficient.

Okay, so to take this to the other side, if you're not bulking but rather cutting. Then what becomes important with your insulin?

Pretty much the same deal, with a few modifications. I'd want insulin present PWO but not for too long; I want to go back to burning bodyfat asap, and that will not happen when insulin is present in the bloodstream.

Upon waking is still an ideal time IMO regardless of cutting/bulking/maintaining, unless of course you're specifically running a fasting type diet. In that case, you'd stick with the protocol and 'spike' insulin whenever you break your fast, regardless of time of day.
