Watching some spring training right now. Any predictions for the upcoming season? Blue Jays will be winning it all so who do you think the runner ups will be?

Blue Jays are going ti be stellar. They may not win it all this year, but soon.
I think Tampa Bay will suprise a few this year. Evan Longoria might stay healthy a full seaon and win MVP, but he will probanly get hurt 2 weeks in.
Braves should improve their overall win totals. I look for Heyward to have a nice year. Not full potential, but solid numbers.
My gut tells me the Angels are going to the WS.
I think Cincinnati, Baltimore, NatIonals and the Royals are going to be amazing this year. I know that's not a stretch, but it would have been 3 years ago.
I follow prospects very closely (I buy, sell, and trade baseball cards as a hobby), so I've been predicting those teams to be forces over the last few years. People have thought I was stupid for saying that Baltimore and Washington would be dominate, but from the last few draft classes, its easy to see in my opinion.
I'm a rangers fan, so I hate to say this, but on paper the angels look all sorts of bad ass. Not to mention mike trout. Kids amazing!

Yeah but he was a big $ player. They may not have had it in their budget. From what I gather they have some good prospects and we still have power in the lineup. Just not as consistent.Originally Posted by Sgt. Hartman

And i have faith that Nolan Ryan has his hands in the cookie jar, he's a pretty good business man. I think he has something up his sleeve. Or at least I hope lol

fell short last season but Nats all the way baby
He does. He's Nolan RyanOriginally Posted by Tron3219
Should be a good season this year. Really hard to make a good prediction when you think about it. Plus baseball predictions are so hard. If you remember last season the Red Sox were supposed to be the best team in history, at least that's what all the experts were saying and they came out and just sucked...not that I care, not a Red Sox fan but just goes to show how hard preseason baseball predictions have become.
Anyway, baseball's the only sport I really follow anymore. Used to love football but the fans have just about ruined it for me.
I'm a josh hamilton fan as well. But the rangers had to let him go, and I hated that. He didn't want to be there anymore, amd last season showed that. He just gave up. I think the move to the angels will be great for him. He will be in the best lineup in baseball, and I dont think any of us could argue that, which should make him a better player and put up killer numbers. Pujols and Trout are enough protection that I see a .310-32-120 type of season, even if he only gets 120 games in, which is always a challenge for him. The angels have enough depth that they should be able to rest him and keep him fresh. I'm not an angels fan btw. Go Braves! I love all teams to be honest. Baseball jas always been a huge part or my life, and ill bet you I have one of the biggest personal collections of cards y'all have ever seen. Cal Ripken Jr is my all time favorite!
Nah he did them a little dirty like you said but they deserved it for low balling him. They'd have paid him if they knew what was coming he just didn't give them the chance. Mistake by management.
Now watch him play like shit for the angels this year b/c I'm talking him up right?
I hope he plays like pujols did the first half of the season....not the second half tho lolOriginally Posted by Sgt. Hartman

I grew up a huge Tennessee fan. Nothing beat the 3rd wkend in OCT. TN vs AL game. I just can't get into it anymore. I still like watching but prefer pro ball but don't care about that as much as I used to. Not to ruin this thread, but there's two things that drive me crazy...how serious the fans take football as if it really maters. More people know more about their football team than they do about things that actually matter. And the really big one that drives me crazy...the fact that the fans and the media seem to ignorantly believe NFL players are geared up out of their minds. I don't care if ball players use gear on a personal level...if it's against the rules it's against the rules and use is cheating. But I just wish it would be recognized for what it is. Take gear out of football and IMO destroy the game and I think most people are oblivious to this.
^^^ You're exaclty right. And that 3rd Saturday is always amazing. People do need to realize it is a game that really don't matter to ti fans, other than pride. But ill admit, it oa amazing being a Bama fan in these times.
Amd you're right about gear in football. They're obviously using even in college, yet its still the biggest game in America and no one seema to notice. Mark ingram went from Alabama to the saints 30lbs heavier and looks like a monster now.
But baseball has lost a lot of luster since the bannings. Everyone wantes to see the long ball. It isn't the same, but strategies have definitely came more into play.
Rangers fan here and like Tron said, I'm terrified of the Angels this season. They look insane on paper. I'm going to miss Josh Hamilton but at least now I don't have to listen to him thank god for everything that happens in his life. Athletes who thank god just piss me off. What, does god want your team to win more than the other? Does god want you to play better than another guy? It's a joke.
So is Josh Hamilton for making comments saying that Texas isn't a baseball town. First off, you're right... Texas isn't a town. Secondly, the ballpark in Arlington has been packed for nearly every single night game for the past two-three seasons. DFW will always be a "football town" but over the past few season the Rangers fan base has grown significantly. Maybe they aren't all "true fans" but I'm not sure how much better that's going to be in Anaheim. I wish Josh nothing but the worst. Maybe he and CJ can go out drinking together and drive off of a cliff.
Unfortunately the Rangers probably won't make it to the post-season this year but it will come back around. We have some solid prospects.
So I went to the Rangers vs. Cubs spring training game today and got Elvis Andris' broken bat. It's probably the coolest thing sports wise that has ever happened to me.
That's freaking awesome man! I'm jealousOriginally Posted by JWP806
The way it works in socal is if you're in LA county or above you're a Dodger's fan. If you live in Orange County, you're an Angels fan. And the people in Orange county aren't real sports fans, so Anaheim isn't much for a baseball town.
And if for some reason, there is a Giants fan in socal, they pretty much get beaten down.
