It took about an hour for the meeting. So plan that if you decide to go check it out for yourself. This one was located on the Country Club Plaza south of downtown Kansas City Missouri. I was greeted by one of their Senior counselors, Vicki Carter and told about the procedure. That it would take all day to do it. You would come in at around 8am and leave by 5pm. The areas to be transplanted are deadened so this is little to no discomfort during the process, they say. The cost is based upon how many hairs are transplanted. So the more you do the cheaper per hair graft cost. They based mine on a transplant of approx 2200 hairs. I wanted a super full frontal area so I can spike my hair without it looking like it is starting to recede. Plus I'm moving my hair line farther forward. So I was told approx 2200 hairs would do the job. I was told their Doctors are Board Certified and this one has been doing this for 23 years. Needless to say, I wasn't told the cost till the last. I told them that I was getting estimates right now so I could make an informed decision. Well here is what they did first the price was quoted to me at 12 grand. I tried not to look freaked out on that price, but it was way more than I expected to pay. But right after I informed them that I was shopping around, she knocked off 1 grand bringing it to 11 grand. So that comes to around 5 bucks per transplanted hair plug. The internet claims the average overall prices per plug are from 3.50-10 dollars per hair. So really at that rate their price isn't bad at all. And it is based upon how many hairs you get transplanted. Say if you only got 1000 hairs the cost at that point is 8500 dollars. And at the 2200 level I'm looking at the cost will be 11 grand so as you get more done at once the cost is less. Again, 11 grand is a lot of moolah. So it comes down to personal choice. If we go buy a new car it's around 35 grand. So if it's put into perspective it's not bad. Plus it's an investment into our looks. And as guys vanity plays a big role in our lives. No one wants to lose their hair but genetics plays a huge role as well as DHT. So anyways this isn't for everyone, but for those who choose it it's nice to know it's an option and it's our own hair growing and not a hair piece. I only wish the insurance company would pay for these lol. Man if they did nearly every man who is receding hair line would be getting it done for sure. I would be faster inclined to do this if the price was more like 5 grand instead of 11. Of course they have financing available as well
Also harvesting hairs is not an exact science therefore,if by chance they extract more hairs then was called for, you will receive those hairs transplanted at 3.50 per hair graft. If they culled more than 100 extra of them then you will be charged only for the first 100 of them up to 350.00 worth.
And one more thing.
After the procedure you will get medications and post op healing kit. The cost of that will be 550.00
The total fees due for paid grafts, for the 100 extra grafts, and the post op healing kit must be paid in full prior to any procedure. After you will receive any credit due you.
If anyone wants any more info just post it here and I will get back to you. I'm off to the gym for now but will be online a little later....
