    Traps on back day

    Hey so after about 3 years of doing traps on shoulder day i changed it about a month ago to back day. Im starting to notice the gains are alot better. Ive been doing my Shrugs after my deadlifts. I no that deads are good for building trap size. My traps are alot more sore during recovery days now. Then when i use to do them on shoulder day. When do you guys do your traps? Is it best tO switch them up? 8 week back day 8 week shoulder day etc?

    I've been forbidden to workout my traps by my gf. I can agree they are huge, they just grow so easily. I always did them on back day too.

    back day, you use them alot when you do deads and other back exercises..

    as you can see from the picture, it's actually a much bigger muscle than most people think it would be..

    I trained them monday and wednesday and friday... And they really started to grow. 1 day a week wasnt cuttin it for me... 3x a week gave me success. 3-4 sets of shrugs to failure. Sometimes drop set on last set... But i know everybodys body is differen but this is what worked for me..

    I do them on shoulder day but swapping and changing them around is good for progression.

    I usually just do them when I have time. I deadlift once a week and they get hit hard then. I have been doing other leg exercises on my leg day and no upper body but I'm going to change my routine. I'm going to do deadlifts and back on the same day and I plan on doing shrugs then. My other days will be a push upper body day and then a squat and leg day. I think doing them on deadlift day is good because they are already warmed up and will be sore anyway.

    I don't train my traps with a specific exercise for them, they grow on their own. I would hesitate to do them on back day just cause some people like heavy shugs and if you did heavy deads and rows, this can be a little too much compression on the back... Just my $0.02

    For some they grow easy, others not so much. Back or shoulder day for me.
