    Joe Weider Passed Away

    From Flex online:

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our founder, Joe Weider at 4:30 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2013. In addition to creating Muscle & Fitness, FLEX, Men's Fitness, Shape, Muscle & Fitness Hers, Natural Health, and Fit Pregnancy magazines, Joe was instrumental in popularizing the fitness movement worldwide. His overall impact on today's culture is immeasurable and his loss incalculable.

We will provide details as we receive them and continue to honor Joe in the coming hours and days.

This is the man that took the sport to new heights, regardless of agenda. RIP Joe Weider....

Now some of you have read and some of you have seen, but I tell you the truth I was living it all when this man had the world of bodybuilding in his hand. All the steel weight sets had is name all over them. The average know nothing person back in those days knew JOE WEIDER. The sport had his name all over it and the big boys followed his. He sponsored a many back in the day. He and a few others mostly him and Arnold made themselves and this sport a house hold name. crazy OLD mike

Ya know we all go. And when you are 25-35-40 you don't think about it. Hell I haven't given it much thought until the last two years. Now that I'm back at the gym and trying to get big and strong and lean etc.. and I think hey maybe a show for over 50 down the road a few years, I catch myself and think a few years and I'll be 63-65....sh!t I working up stream. Who am I kidding the guys over 50 have been training for 30 years or more. I took a 25 yr layoff ...huh, think again mike So I'll take the show goal out and just try to big like I always wanted. Cutting is not a problem, but getting big as a 61 yr old ecto, aint gonna be easy. But I feel fvckin great and I might look good on the way. ...crazy mike

Sorry if I took any of the thread selfishly ...cm

    From latimes 3/23/13:

Weider, 93, passed away Saturday of heart failure at his home in Los Angeles, according to a news release. The multimillion-dollar publishing empire he built included Muscle and Fitness, Flex, Shape, and Men’s Fitness magazines.

All of my weights and benches had his name on them when I was a kid. Joe was already in his 60's by then. Kind of puts his longevity into perspective. I'm almost 43 now. I'm glad he lived a long full life. RIP 'Master Blaster'.

Yeah it was only 2008 when Ben died. With these two gone now, I wonder what bodybuilding as a whole will become. Its a sport that has continually been driven underground further and further to the point where it is nonexistent in the public - bodybuilding magazines like Flex, MD, etc. aren't even found in the drugstores and supermarkets here now (they used to be about 5 years ago). Need to go to an actual bookstore to find them now. RIP Joe.

It doesnt matter how good looking she is, some where, some one is tired of her shit.
