    Inked up

IF i were to want to compete one day, would it be wise of me to get inked up?

Im thinking of getting my back and a sleeve done, only thing that detours me of getting one if i wanted to compete, would it not be a good idea since every muscle has to be clearly seen?

I don't have any personal experience on this I'm afraid. I do know that there are lots of fake tabs that will cover pretty much anything, I've heard that many of them are illegal to sell in the UK due to some funny chemicals.

You will likely get marked down if your tats are visible but that partly depends on the organisation you compete with. Most ifbb pro's don't have them and you would be marked down in the INBF. A guy win the MR Universe in the WPF with LOtS of visible tats.

You can get some extremely dark fake tan to cover if necessary but you may look 'wrong'.

Check with your desired federation and look at previous comps and see if you think the tattooed guys should have placed higher.

Dude I have 2 sleeves capped at the shoulders which make my delts look smaller than they are so if you are gonna get ink be careful how they look and where they are

There are some great tans around what will more or less cover tats, there are also some products ive been told what will cover them completely.

Dorian Yates won the Mr. Olympia competition six times and had tattoos, but the placement of them could have been the trick. According to IFBB, there is no penalty for having tattoos in competition so long as they do not distract the judge when scoring. Dorian had his tattoos on back of forearms, making it a bit more difficult to locate then. You will not get points deducted for having tattoos, but you may not score as high if the designs take away from the definition of your muscle definition.

Luckily, these days you can get painted before a competition by someone else or by yourself, a process that will hide most of the tattoo. Bodybuilder Lee Priest has numerous tattoos including on his face, but they are not noticeable during a competition because of both tanning and paint.

While tattoos used to be associated with the Navy or rock ‘n roll, they seem to have progressed to be “okay” in bodybuilding today. Of course, remember to never get offensive tattoos as your tan can come off and hurt your score should they offend the judges.

If your real serious about competing, say at a national level do not get your back or a sleeve. Unless you do 2+ spray tans it does take away from your physique. At the met last year, this guy had a fully covered back and arms, no dark tribal or anything but just covered. He looked great backstage but when he was on stage I thought it took away from his definition. Later on back stage I asked him how he did, he got 4th, I was surprised and he thought it was because of his tatts. You can have some tatts, but select their location where it wont take away from your overall physique. Think about it, if one arm looks different then the other, your symmetry is off.

It doesnt matter how good looking she is, some where, some one is tired of her shit.

Check out rich piana on YouTube. He says he places his tats specifically to make him look bigger. Can't say I disagree with him lol

If you do go down that route... Just know you need
primer under the concealer so it holds for long periods of time and also goes on thick enough to cover black areas... I have a tribal and and arm piece and they are both black
