    Bloodwork in Ontario

Does anyone know if we can get bloodwork done in Ontario without a req from the doctor? Can we just pay for our own test outside of OHIP? The reason is my Doc is semi retarded and I'd like to take matters into my own hands...

If you find something please let the rest of us Canucks know. Nothing up north, that's for sure.

I'm always on the lookout for this, but it is extremely rare here in a country where we are covered under national healthcare. I am able to get mine through my doctor, but most doctors will deny.

I have tried twice getting bloodwork for hormones in ontario with no luck. 2 different doctors and they won't do it for me because I'm in my early 20's and they say"as long as you're getting hard it's fine" I mean I'm sure you could go in with low test "symptoms" and they'll do it but how many times will that work. I was able to get bloodwork for lipids, liver, kidneys etc. though through my family doctor.

I also tried calling the red cross and blood bank and thy wouldn't do it either. I had seen a thread a few months back about a guy in newfoundland that got it done at his bloodbank dirt cheap

It's the price we must pay to not having big penalties on juice possession in the north LOL

Private Blood Tests Canada - Blood Tests Canada - Order private blood tests online

Expensive but it's the best we got if not going through a doc/clinic. Never used myself but know a few who have without many problems(sometimes been delays).
