Have been on 4 pumps of Androgel for about 1 year. Asked to dr to change to shots. Put me on Depo at 200mg. once a month. Is depo the same as cypionate? Should I break it down to 50mg weekly or 100mg every 2 weeks? New to this and loking for help. Thanks

It's cypionate. So that's fine. Now, you need your injections (as you know) once a week minimum. Your doc needs to understand the half life of testosterone as he's clueless. If he's receptive to you educating him great. If not run to another asap. I'd start at 100mg per week if at all possible and test bloods in 6 weeks. Many of us prefer twice per week but you need to start somewhere.

It's amazing that doc's can so quickly write scripts for test without understanding the basics of it. Imagine what else they must get wrong that can have far more deleterious effects.

yikes!!! 200mg once per month? i would guess ull be worse off, I was wondering if depo was the same as cyp as well...why not call it cyp?

Is your doc older/younger, and male or female? Is this an endo?

Just make sure to remind him if he gives you any grief that a healthy male makes somewhere from 50-70mgs a week of testosterone. The 50mg he's giving you, you'll only absorb about 30-35mgs because of the weight of the ester. You shuold start out on 100mgs a week, ideally split into two dosages. Also read the hcg sticky.
