Low Test

I received my blood work back from Kaiser lab. The test lab reports tester one total 397. Is this considered low for a 29 years old. I ran two cycle. First cycle Test 500mg/week for 12 weeks. Second 500mg/week of Test E and 250mg/week of deca for 12 weeks but Deca only 10 weeks. Last time I cycle was 2011. My doctor believes if I am below 220 that I have low test. I live in Sacramento I want a second opinion. Any clinics you guys can recommend. I can print lab work from Kp.org

For a 29 yr old I would consider it low. I would expect double that. Post up your most current BW with ranges and let us take a look. Many things can cause low T that are correctable so lets find the root cause if possible before you make a potentially life-long decision. BW usually tells all if you had the right panels pulled.

BW? Body Weight? I weighed 165lbs and now weigh 151lbs with 7% bf

I will be shocked if Kaiser will give you any consideration for TRT. Kaiser is my PCP, I know their M.O. all too well.

IMO, your HPTA is semi-suppressed from your previous cycle, and you should consider running a thorough PCT to see if you can get it fully functional. Unless there are other variables that I don't see (?), you did a cycle, which included a Nor19 compounded, so one would presume you're just needing a complete PCT.

You probably should also look at your E2, and a prolactin lab. Any AI or dopamine agonist taken during this cycle? Also, please edit and remove your doctor's name off of your post. Thanks.

PS: Your 2nd opinion at Kaiser will end up with one of their endos. If you don't like the direction your PCP is going with this, wait til you see one of their endos. And 9 out of 10 they would put you on Gel "if" treatment were to come into the picture, but they will avoid it in most cases.

Do you think they would give injection if I told him that Gel may not absurd well. If I told the endo I have oily skin and sweat a lot

The endo will pass that off as some other issue, and will have no idea what he is doing. They won't check for E2 d, no HCG, and they won't monitor your labs as needed.

My journey down this road started at age 40 with Kaiser, and my serum was low 200's. It was a mess! Again, I think you will have a better chance with exploring you HPTA and giving consideration to a complete PCT. If TRT is going to be the answer, then start looking at a Plan "B" as the possible solution, e.g., LowT.com. If Kaiser gives you a shot, it will more than likely be a 200mg/ for the whole month. Yes, this is how they do it. You know this up front, so you can choose how much you hang around in their Web, or what steps you take now to get your life under control. If your HPTA is healthy, then I'm all for saying try to find away to stay natural for a little longer. I'm sure you'll crossover here at one point or another, but being 29yo, you still have a lot in front of you.

Your labs look good except for LDL being slightly elevated.
LDL Cholesterol is the "bad cholesterol". High levels increase your chance for heart disease. LDL levels less than 100 are considered ideal for most people. Levels less than 70 are sometimes recommended for people at very high risk for heart attack. Levels over 160 are considered to be high.

Your labs also show that your vitamin D level is low. Low levels can be associated with fatigue and pains. Here is what you need to do:

1. Take ergocalciferol (prescription) 50,000 IU capsule once a week for 12 weeks (this is a prescription: already sent to pharmacy).

2. Come back to the lab to recheck your vitamin D level. (no need to fast)

3. If your lab results are normal, take vitamin d 1000 iu/day (available over-the-counter) thereafter along with calcium citrate (not carbonate) 1200 mg to 1500 mg per day (also available over the counter).
-----If you are getting calcium in your food, you may decrease the amount of calcium supplement you take so the total is 1200-1500 mg.

I made a appointment with a clinic. I spoke to the doctor he said my t-levels are suppressed that I am candidate for TRT. He would want me to bring in my lab results and I will talking to him tomorrow. He told me Kaiser rarely ever prescribe their patients TRT

My appt was earlier this morning and i met my doctor we first went over my BW (white blood cell and red blood cell count, glucose, potassium, calcium, lipids, T-levels etc) and stated my T-levels were suppressed but everything else looked good. He gave me a physical and colonoscopy before starting me on trt. He first discussed starting me at 100mg/week of cyp but changed his mind to 150mg/cyp. I had my first injection today in the afternoon. I hope I start feeling better by the 2nd or 3rd week. I had a great work earlier this evening probably the placebo effect lol.

should have tried restarting your body's own testosterone. There is nothing wrogn with you medically. You used steroids and did this to yourself(not trying to be rude but just explaining wha t i mean by nothing wrong with you)..a level of 400 after using roids is ok imo...i think you have potential to produce 600 naturally.

i do think 397 is low for 29 though...so i agree you need some investigating.....but do as u wish...

My last cycle was in 2011. What could a pct do for me isn't it a bit to late? I had my BW taken in the morning at 730am when T-levels are at their highest so my total is probably lower than 397.

PCT may have stimulated your system enough to elevate and maintain a higher degree of function. You're 29. It was worth a try and still is.
