    This Dog I have

So, let me give you guys a little back-story before I jump in to the problem here.

My father last year moved across country leaving me his dog (he lives in an apartment that doesn't allow big dogs). He got the dog from one of my sister's friend's parent who abused her.

Anyways, anytime somebody comes to the door or inside, this dog gets really scared. Like literally she pisses on the floor and barks/whines relentlessly.

Fast forward to earlier today. I come home and on the carpet I just had installed over the weekend, she had the Hershey squirts all over it. I almost threw up it was that bad.

So after I use the carpet steamer and clean up the mess (luckily, it didn't stain), the dog sits down on the tiles by the front door. She stands up and there is blood where she was sitting on the tile.

So I rush her down to the vet and I kid you not the doctor looked at her order some bloodwork and told me he thinks she has IBS and the shit she took was so bad that it caused her to bleed from the ass (like a popped hemorrhoid). Now do you guys think it's even possible for a dog to get IBS and then to pop a hemorrhoid? Or do you guys think this is just pet doctor quackery at it's best?

I think you are nuts for installing new carpet when you have a dog that you know has issues.

Yet another reason I dont have pets that are not contained to a glass enclosed environment.

I'm sure it's possible. If it was me I would be putting the dog up for adoption ASAP unless you have an emotional attachment to it already and then you are sh*t out of luck. Pun intended.

Dogs can absolutely develop IBS. Bleeding though in my dogs' experience was from damage to internal organ. Usually swallowing something indigestible.

I actually didn't want to buy the carpet in the first place. I was happy with the old. Wasn't my choice. Just like getting stuck with this animal wasn't mine. I really don't even like/want the dog, but since it's my dad's I can't really just get rid of her either.

On the way back, I was thinking "what the fvck kind of stress can a dog have that causes IBS?" I mean her life consists of lounging around in an airconditioned place all day long while she gets to eat whenever she wants and she has all the toys she could ever desire and gets to go outside and play all the time. I mean her life is better than most people's hahaha.

But yeah he saw where the blood was coming from on her ass so it wasn't really that internal.

Need I say more? You answered your own question if you read between the lines. How many times have you said that about the 2 legged species? lol

Now if you are looking for solutions.
The dog got out and ran away?
She got out and got hit by a car?
You were walking her in the park and she got away from you. You have put up lost dog posters of course.
I'm sure I can think of more if you want.

What dog food are you giving? You can get special formula that may eliminate the
    Problem.

I think it's the oatmeal formulas. I could be wrong. Ask one of the managers at pet store. If they don't carry that food u can get it at most vets

U also have to socialize the dog and re-introduce it to the world. It needs to be with other dogs and learn that it's ok.

I took in an abused jack russel rescue dog and had same issues if not worse. Within a few months he was one of the pack and such a good boy. Don't give up bro.

She generally gets along with other dogs though. It's people that she's afraid of. And no matter how many times she gets exposed to people it's the same thing EVERY time.

Your dog needs to go on BARF. Natures raw insticnt variety patties are a good place to start. Dont let the vet put them on som prescription crap that costs you $4 a can.

Most dogs have stomach problems bc the shit most people give them is the equivalent to Burger King for a dog.

My German does not eat any dog food. He eats all raw. People are shocked when I tell them he is going to be 6 becuase he looks like heis very very young. Not that 6 is old but you can tell he is very healthy. I had so many issues with his stomach with all of these premium pet food its all crap.

That is a good looking Shepard, bro. My Rottie Boxer is 11. I have taken him to the vet 3 times in his life. I found him on the street when he was roughly 3months old half starved to death, in tennessee, he rode in my lap 10 hours back to Florida. I named him Memphis Slim.

He has been hit by 3 cars, never injured, never pissed or shit inside. He is 100lbs, and just had a malignent tumor removed from his chest, but they got it all aparently.

He is my best, and only true friend in my life besides my wife.

Take care of that pup bro, she doesnt want to ruin your carpet, she has a problem. Probably diet related. Give her a chance, she deserves it.

Yeah, I dont feed Memphis shit. He eats Natural Salmon and Sweet Potato dry food. He gets Organic eggs in the morning and plenty of Organic chicken, rice, veggies and potatoes.

He is a good boy. I want him to eat as good as I do.

Dont have a pic to put up, but he is a beast.

Thanks. People stop me all the time it awww of his looks. Its really a great feeling!

Thats a great thing you did for your dog and a great name. Its def all in the food. My vets wanted to start doing all these crazy tests when he was a pup. LIke cutting out a piece of his intestines or pancreas. I was like enough of this non sense. Started doing research and learned dogs were not meant to eat carbs as a main source of foodd. Thats when I did the switch and it was the best move I made. Dog takes one tiny dump in the morning and thats it.

Put a small bowl of treats what ever is her favorite. Who ever comes to the house have them give the dog a treat when they come in.

Yeah, vets will tax you. My cousin is a vet in DC, and she told me that depending on where you live, most shots and shit are not necessary.

I took Memphis to the vet the day after I found him, for shots and to make sure he would survive. I picked ticks off of him for about a week. He had so many all over his body, in between his toes. Its messed up cause somebody croped his tail and took hi due claws, and then just dumped him I guess.

I took him once when I was driving down the road and we both got stung by bees. Strange. But the left side of his head swelled up so much in like 2 mins. Took him in and they gave him a shot for anafilectic shock, aparently he is allergic to bees.

Then once just 3 weeks ago for some gum issue, and the tumor.

Diet is key for us as well as them. I know someone that feeds their dogs raw meat and thats it and vitamins.
