I am 23 years old (please, no flaming for the age.) I am also 180lbs and a legit 9% BF (visible 6 pack.) I have a solid 5 years of training under my belt as well.
For the relevance of this post, I'd like briefly discuss what a training split should be like while on cycle. I have ran a few cycles in the past. My most recent one was last summer with Test prop, var, and primo. I was on a 5 day split and it looked like this:
Monday: Full upper body
Tuesday: Full lower body
Wednesday: Hill Springs
Thurday: Full upper body
Friday: Full lower body
Saturday: Full upper body
Sunday: OFF
I'm not quite sure if this was optimal or not. I did, however, get some pretty sick results from my cycle. I was quite happy, to say the least. My the looks of my last sentence, I might have just answered my own question. That answer being, stick with what works.
I was going to stick with that same approach for this upcoming cycle. However, lately I have been reading about how steroids may actually slow recovery. Now, before people get all crazy on me here bear with me, for a second. What I meant was that when one is on cycle muscles contract harder, therefore, this is actually more physically taxing to the body. Constant contractions can lead to overtraining, I believe. I don't have the exact source on where I have read this, so I am not going to put a ton of stock into this theory. I did find it interesting, though. It also makes sense, actually.
Anyways, I just wanted to share this concept with some of the members here on the forum and wanted to see their opinion on this. I used to do the old bodybuilding routine of a 6 day split. I ditched that a few years ago because i felt that I was grinding myself into the ground.
Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
