Lets just say I dont want to loose way to much weight is walking for 40 mins to an hour everyday good cardio to loose body fat or should I just stick to running 3 to 4 times a day instead?

Walking is a good way to start especially if you can't run for any signifant amount of time. You can work up to running in short order. Have you considered biking? Easier on the shins and knees.
