Hi ppl. Well. I DO know what's caused the injury but. My gym buddy hasn't got the same injury. OK.
Workout was;
Suspended barbel curls (led on front on inclined set bench)
1*warm up with low weight
1*feeler set
3*Max weight (45kg) at 6-8reps
Standing barbel curls
1*feeler set
3*Max weight (65kg) at 8reps (will be increased next session)
Standing straight bar cabled curls
1*feeler set
3*Max weight 80kg 8 reps
Curling machine
Now this I believe is what caused the problem.
We used low curl weight but enforced extremely high resistance on the negatives of each set of 3 reps for a full resistance of 5 seconds. N when I say full resistance I mean I may have more locked my arms up and maybe caused serious undue pressure on the connective tissue in the mid forearm at the bottom side if arms in a hammer type position.
I was working shoulders today with the missus (she done really well btw. Been a few times now) and on any PUSH exercise no problem. But any exercises involving gripping pulling or holding weights at an angle was causing some immense pain. E.g. I'd usually go up to 40kg dumbbell up right rows one at a time. But the pain became too much even at 22.5kg my usual feeler set.
OK. What I'd like to know.
If anyone has experienced this. How long did it take for u to get over it?. Did u have to completely rest off or work light?. I'm on a 3 day rest point now as seeing my daughters new school. I'm just praying to the heavens I haven't done permanent damage to the ligaments.
I already take MSN crystals at 5gs a day. Anyone know if upping to 10gs. At 5gs am and 5gs pm would help?
