    Some opinions on my BW

First time posting so bear with me. I wanted to get you guys all the info so I can get some feedback. I go in tomorrow to discuss with my Dr. They tried to just call in an Rx today without any discussion. I am 40 years old.
My Total test along with my normal BW was 251.2 ng/dL 291-739 was normal range
This prompted a full T test. With "normal" ranges next to them

    TSH 1.63 uIU/ml .30-5.60
    PSA 1.24 ng/mL 0.00-4.00
    FSH 1.8 mIU/mL 1.4-11.2
    LH 1.3 mIU/mL 1.7-8.6
    Prolactin 8.1 ng/mL 1.6-18.8
Sex hormone binding globulin 17.2 11-80
    Testos, total 211 L ng/dL 291-739
    Bioavailable Testos 131.8 ng/dL 130-680
    Testosterone, Free 55 pg/mL 47-244
    DHEA, unconjugated 2.26 ng/mL .63-4.70

I am physically fit, but at about 25% BF if that helps. Any insight into what the right route should be. I want to up my testosterone, but I am worried about estrogen levels.

Roy Nelson? Ok well he can fight and take a punch. I had all kinds of BW done by my first Doc but none of the specific tests Bass noted except for test levels. I am having re work on BW with my new Doc and he's testing all of those. Make sure you have the right Doc who understands how this all works.

Can't fault you there. I wonder if big country is going to be picked up by UFC again.
I'm back in the gym working on getting fit again. I'm probably at 20% or even25% but not very fit these days. Used to run a lot along with the weights. Let myself go. But that's one of the downs of low t.

is this all the test they ran? they need to do more, allot more before they put you on any kind of treatment. and MRI might be needed to rule out/in pituitary tumors. to be honest I don't see how anyone can make an informed assessment based on this BW only. if I were you i'd hold off any medication until you find out what is causing your low T. check out kelkel's thread regarding Finding a Physician to learn about what BW is needed.

They ran the normal blood work as well with the original Testosterone test. Glucose, Sodium, Calcium, Cholesterol, Etc. Those were all in good ranges.

this is the complete male hormone panel you need, copied from kelkel's thread.

    • Total Testosterone
    • Bioavailable testosterone (aka Free and Loosely Bound)
    • Free Testosterone
    • SHBG
    • DHT (gel users especially pay attention to this)
    • Estradiol (specify “sensitive” assay for males)
    • LH
    • FSH
    • Prolactin
    • Cortisol
    • Thyroid Panel (complete)
    • CBC
    • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
    • Lipid Panel
    • PSA (age dependent)
    • IGF-1, IGFBP-3 (if HGH therapy is being considered)
    • Vitamin D

Op consider an MRI of your pituitary to rule in/out adenomas. Your LH is in the toilet and it needs to be checked, IMHO. Agree with Bass on further BW as well.

Saw the Dr. today. I got the blood draw for the missing BW from the list above. He didn't feel a need to order an MRI, but did not rule it out. He wrote a Rx for (working off memory) Test cyp 100mg a week and HCG and the 250 3x a week. No AI yet until we see the E2 levels. Here is the rub went to pick up the Rx and they told me my insurance covered the HCG, but it still cost me $130 per shot or $390 a week! Has anyone else run into this problem. At that cost there is no way. Thanks for all the input so far.

something not right about the prices. are you sure that's for 250iu only? maybe its for the whole vial! you can get hCG for about 1/5th of the one shot cost! what's your insurance?

  14. #14
That is what the pharmacist told me the cost would be per shot. I have Carpenters insurance. She was surprised they even covered it.

I hate to see what the cost is if they didn't cover it! find another place. to be honest hCG is very hard to find in US pharmacies, but you may want to try compounding pharmacy, and if they ask stupid questions indicating their ignorance about hCG get the hell out of there and find another one.

I don't have much faith in compounding pharms but to be sure go to the dollar store and buy pregnancy test, draw couple of drops hCG in a syringe then draw water to 1-2 ml mark, mix it gently in rotating motion then apply to the pregnancy test, if positive then you're good to go, if not get your money back and find another one.

Thanks bass! Found a compounding pharmacy and it is way cheaper. About 22x cheaper. The other pharmacy had to be wrong.

Thanks for the info. They said it was name brand, Nova. Anything they would have mixed up would be more expensive according to them.

Are you refering to the stuff they could mix up? If so I didn't think to follow up on it, since they said it would be more $$.

I sure hope so. I requested it multiple times when I asked them to run the test. The lab result does not mention sensitive assay though. It only says (1) Estradiol (3440).
