so, my dad is a 56 almost 57 diabetic(not on insulin), and on cholesterol meds. I posted his bloodwork back in march, and his total tesrt was 320, lh was 5.6 or so, and fsh around 22. His total t this time rose to 412(which isnt terrible for 56 imo..and higher than mine lol), his lh rose from 5.6 to nearly 14! his fsh rose to around 30.
the lh and fsh suggest primary however primary guys dont make 412 ng/dl especially at 56 years old. Im guessing my dad's meds are killing his test
my dad's free test was well below the range. im guessing his shbg is verrrry high. would t injections even help? With a high shbg isnt he doomed?
btw his estradiol non sensitive was around 9..which i know is a little low but im proud of him for having a low number and not a high oneI get my low e from him
his results perplexed me..and i think his pituitary obviously works, his balls have to work to be pumping out 412 ng/dl tt, i think his statins and diabetes meds are killing his t.
one thing i found odd was that back in march his prolactin was LESS THAN 0.1, and this time it was 7.5 on a scale of 4-15i.2. is that cause for alarm?
the range on his total testosterone was 193-740 but it was still ng/dl so i figure it's universal
total t 412.3 (193-740)/..was 320 back in march
prolactin 7.5(4-15.2) was less than 0.1 in march
estradiol 9.37(7.69-42.60)
his free t was 5.66 o na range of 7.2-23. back in march it was only 1.7 lol
his lh was 13.4(1.7-8.6) back in march was only 5.6
his fsh was 30.7(1.5-12.4)...in march it was 23.3
now that he;s on 5000 iu vitamin d per day his d went up to 36.6 from 22.4, but id like it higher.
so my dad is 57, on tons of meds, and still is producing more t than me..go dad![]()
