Affects your cholesterol,(higher). My t is in the high 500's, natural, and I'm 47. Been smoking for far too long. Probably 31 years. When I do cycle next time, I'd like to quit before hand, hopefully for good.

You shouldn't quit just to do a cycle. Smoking costs a lot of money and is going to kill you. The sooner you quit, the better your health will be. Like when I smoked, I did 2 packs a day at $6 a pack (KOOL Superlongs). That was over 4 grand a year and for what? You don't even get high from it. All it does is gets rid of the cravings for 20 mins.

I quit sometime around april of 2005 and I tell you after the first couple weeks, it wasn't that hard to quit. And I smoked for 12 years.

It's a shame to see people in their last stages of life due to smoking; I often ask them if they regret it, the obvious answer is yes. Unfortunately, you can not undue what you have already done.

    Yup.

Also regardless of cycling, increases hematocrit levels.

I once said when cigs got to 4 bucks I'd quit, now they're up to 7. At work we can't smoke anymore, once they passed the smoking ban in bars and resteraunts . So that helped. I've quit before a couple of times at 6 mos each. Hopefully I can for good this time.

Austinite.... I did not realize that about hematocrit. Thanks. Mine is usually in the low 40's, went up to low 50's when I was on TRT, and did my first cycle. Interesting to keep track of that once I quit.

I don't smoke but their almost $10 here.
I was just talking to a coworker the other day about this. He was complaining that he's barely making his bills but himself and his wife both smoke at least a pack a day. I said if you both quit your saving $560 a month!

What worked for me was getting the hottest flavoured gum you can find at the store. Main thing is you need to replace the action of smoking with something else.

^^^^^ this, I also used gum and it helps alot. Sept will be 3 years and I still chew a couple packs a day. I'm thinking its part of my problem with kidney stones so I'm working on giving it up. But I'll never smoke again. Nasty habit, but you don't realize it till you quit. Your house smells, your car, clothes, hair, skin everything. Never again.

Also a big fan of the gum...it saved me truly. I found a regular gum (Dentyne Ice) that tasted just like it and weaned myself off the nic gum slowly. Total miracle.

I never used nicotine gum before. I used regular $.50 chewing gum at every single convenience store in the world. I still chew it to freshen my breath every now and then. But yeah $.50 for a pack of chewing gum sure beats $10 for a pack of smokes. And on top of it, you wont smell like burning ass and it might help you live a little longer (and better).

Your body compensates for hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) by increasing RBC production. Sleep apnea and high altitudes will also cause this.

Anything in moderation is fine imo, but we all know the dangers of smoking the same way excessive drinking is bad for you.

There is also this myth that smoking calms a persons nerves, which is absolute bullshit. Smoking is a stimulant, if you are feeling anxious, fraught, pissed off, etc....it will only make you worse.

The only calming of the nerves I ever experienced from smoking was when I was having a craving, the cigarette would cure that and thus calm me down. So if I just never smoked, I'd never have had the problem in the first place.
