Does anyone have any experience with MCT oil? I've read a whole bunch of reviews but wanted to know if anyone on these fourms has personal experience with MCT oil on a ketogenic diet. Thanks.

I've been using MCT oil for quite some time now. I don't do keto diets but I do use the MCT oil a days when I keep carbs really low...gives me a good amount of energy and has thermogenic propterties. I like the Now brand liquid...taste pretty good too.
What kind of dosing are you gentlemen using?

I figured it's a little old school but if it does well on a ketogenic diet then it's something a lot of people are missing out on.
It is def old school but it def gives you an energy boost especially when carb depleted for sure.
Ausin I dont recall the doses i used to take... sorry.
I've been using the Now brand and typically dose it at 15ml (1 tbl. sp) with my non-carb containing meals. Macros are: 100 cals, 14g fat, 0g carbs, 0g protein. It's worth noting that MCT oil is not an essential fatty acid (efa) so don't use it for this purpose. I often throw in some efa's on top of my MCT oil dose. I've gone carbless for a 36 hour period before and still my energy levels didn't suffer due to MCT oil supplementation. I will also note that MCT oil can cause stomach discomfort in some and I def wouldn't dose more than 15ml at one time...in fact I would start with half that dose to access tolerance.
It is saturated, bit it doesn't **** up your lipids and arteries like other saturated fats.
