    Knee Wraps and Heavy Squats

19 years old, 188lbs and as my name implies, I like to squat heavy! I have heard both good and bad things about using knee wraps. Generally, i have heard that once you get to 500 or 600lbs on your squat, it is good to wrap up the knees. But i have also heard that wearing them tightens your patella against your quad ligament and means more wear and tear on your knee. I have a raw squat of 515 right now, so i would fall into this category of using them. I tried them out for my first time today just going light with 405, and it was definitely a different feel. I dont know if i liked them better or not, but i feel more explosive on my ascend then without them (which makes sense as the elastic band will store some energy). Just wondering if it is worth grabbing a pair of wraps and solely using them when i do 3 reps or less on heavy days. Also, I may be doing a test deca cycle soon and with rapid muscle growth in my legs would this be a smart or dumb thing to wrap them up?? help! get huge bros!

Ill let someone else address the AAS usage at the age of 19..

But as far as using the wraps, I would personally use them on your heavy set only. That way your still building your stabilizers. I'm assuming your heavy set would be 3 reps or less so I would say not a dumb idea.
