On these forums we write mcg, meaning microgram. The actual short hand for micro is a Greek letter that looks like 'u'.
Milli (mg) = x10^-3
Micro (ug) = x10^-6
Nano (ng) = x10^-9

For thyroidal patients, T4 is prescribed in function of body weight, height and age...
under 50, 1.7 mcg/kg/day for Overt Hypothyroidism , 1.0 mcg/kg/day for Subclinical Hypothyroidism... (source Hypothyroidism (Levothyroxine) Calculator (Adults)) hope it helps.
mind you this is a general guideline...we r using T4 in a "recreational" way...
