"It's human nature in a 'more is better' society full of a younger generation that expects instant gratification, then complain when they don't get it. The problem will get far worse before it gets better". ~ kelkel
I am seriously Bi-Polar I. I have suffered from clinical depression and very serious manic rage episodes. I have been hospitalized and institutionalized (very short term) I used to suffer from some panic attacks. So I would need more info to tell you anything, if I knew something about it. ...crazy mike
have you been clinically diagnosed with this? Or do you just feel like everyone is out to get you or everyone is untrusting? And this diagnoses is something that is ongoing so if you're just recently experiencing people Untrustworthy or malicious towards you for like say the past year then this diagnosis wouldn't fit you- but if you sense the past five plus years you believe this and maybe you should get in about you a shin done.
I have known people who suffered from paranoia but it was self/chemically induced and can become permanent to some degree.
I also have a co worker who suffers from clinical paranoia non chemically induced and I'm not sure if it's been clinically diagnosed but it's obviously not being treated. Makes him a real PITA to work with. He always complains about how this or that person is throwing him under the buss, someone is setting him up to fail, he is treated unfairly compared to others and he spends most of his day looking for something someone else had missed or didnt do right so he can document it just in case he needs it later to use against them.
So why do you think you may be clinically paranoid? Is this something recent or has always been this way?
One of my favorite sayings is: Just because you are paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you...![]()
Gear plays a huge factor with this, are u on or off?
I suffered with anxiety/panic attacks when i was 15 -17, suffered with depression on and off to a certain degree since then so that's 9 years and for the last 2 - 3 years i don't trust anyone, think that everyone is talking about me which causes anger and arguments and have lead to fights on a few occasions. I even think that if someone is making a meal for me they are going to poison me with something. If anything when im on cycle these symptoms seem to lessen to a degree
DSM VI 301.0 -
Diagnostic criteria for 301.0 Paranoid Personality Disorder
DSM IV - TR
(cautionary statement)
A. A pervasive distrust and suspiciousness of others such that their motives are interpreted as malevolent, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by four (or more) of the following:
(1) suspects, without sufficient basis, that others are exploiting, harming, or deceiving him or her
(2) is preoccupied with unjustified doubts about the loyalty or trustworthiness of friends or associates
(3) is reluctant to confide in others because of unwarranted fear that the information will be used maliciously against him or her
(4) reads hidden demeaning or threatening meanings into benign remarks or events
(5) persistently bears grudges, i.e., is unforgiving of insults, injuries, or slights
(6) perceives attacks on his or her character or reputation that are not apparent to others and is quick to react angrily or to counterattack
(7) has recurrent suspicions, without justification, regarding fidelity of spouse or sexual partner
B. Does not occur exclusively during the course of Schizophrenia, a Mood Disorder With Psychotic Features, or another Psychotic Disorder and is not due to the direct physiological effects of a general medical condition.
Note: If criteria are met prior to the onset of Schizophrenia, add "Premorbid," e.g., "Paranoid Personality Disorder (Premorbid)."
The problem with these dx's, and in fact I'd say a criticism of the entire DSM, is that these symptoms overlap with so many others, the constant worrying is present in Generalized Anxiety Disorder, can be chemically induced, etc. In my case I suffered from dysphoria and panic attacks, which were largely due to a chemical dependency problem. So the causes can be many, underlying pathology, etc. This is where the quality of the physician you're seeing in rooting out the true cause of the problem, be it underlying pathology, or exogenous chemicals as the cause of your issues. I'd be inclined to say the early onset is a good indicator, but that would be up to a mental health professional to decide. For me personally, I now look to medication as a last resort only, but everyone is different, and if you find a solution which allows you to live a better quality of life, thats all that matters. My personal opinion, is that psychiatric conditions are over diagnosed, and that powerful mind/mood altering psychiatric medications are over prescribed at an alarming rate, when other modalities of treatment would be just as efficacious.
Conspiracy theory
Reads hidden demeaning or threatening meanings into benign remarks or events - if by this you mean takes wordds the wrong way then that's a big yes
I haven't been clinically diagnosed, i failed to turn up to 3 psychiatrist appointments after being referred by my G.P. Kept forgetting when the dates were. I don't think everyone is out to get me just that they are talking about me, public places the worst, parties ect. I don't trust anyone or my partner but there are no reasons not to either but that don't matter i still don't trust them.
No i don't check my car for bugging and tracking devices...
Tren and eq tho
question is, if they are talking about you, why do you care? I know every one talks about me when I walk into a building or situation all eyes are on me, because I'm good looking, smart, I'm a fu cking superstar.(in a humble way of course lol)
