So I searched, I promise! I feel like this is a subject that has to have been discussed before but when adding up your carb macro do you subtract the fiber or just use net carbs?

I think the Atkins diet has you do this..

Like if its 5g carbs, 2g fiber that's actually only 3g carbs...

Technically yes, that's correct. Humans dont have the enzymes to digest fiber so it's calorie free....but that's just too damn much work

I never added this into my calculations. Think I'll try it and see how much I can get away with for fun!

    Thanks

You have soluble and insoluble fiber, so it's not just indiscriminate. Personally, I count all fiber towards total carb intake, knowing that if I go a bit over my daily allotment, I'm still good. Similar idea to setting your clock 10 mins ahead and then hitting snooze, lol.

Makes sense! That's the way I typically do it too.. like always rounding intake up and requirements down.. say I need 2734 calories I'd round that to an even 2700..
If I ate a nice juicy burger that was 1570 cal I'd round that up to 1600.. of course I'm cutting so if rather be slightly under my requirement than over.
