    Dextrose

Someone told me yesterday that I can use Dextrose in place of sugar, and it is good for me? Woulnt turn to fat like regular sugar does? Is this true?

Dextrose is glucose. I will hit your body quickly and cause a good insulin response. It can be used post-work with whey protein. It is also less sweet than orginary sugar. Table sugar is sucrose it is a disacharide -- one part glucose and one part fructose. Neither will "turn to fat" unless you are eating more calories than using.

    ^^ this.

To answer the OP's question, I personally see no good reason to purposefully consume sugar. The supposed benefit of the insulin spike is far outweighed by the negative impacts IMO.

Eating sugar is never really "good for you"...unless it is to prevent hypoglycemia.
