I'm old. Mid 50's. I used to build houses for a living. I've been told for years about resting muscles so they grow, etc. Tear them down and let them build for 6 days. Wondering if thats bro sci.
Some peeps have muscular strengths and weaknesses. My shoulders are a strength.
I decided to throw everything I've been told, out the window and just do shoulders for a month, which turned into 31 days today. For 6 weeks I've done shoulders. I pre-exhausted(sp?) tri's so my rear delt reps weren't using tri's.
I am happy with the results and LOVED going to the gym for the last 6 weeks. Absolutely loved it. When I built houses, I had to use shoulders every day or whatevs, so I thought, wtf, I am going to workout like I worked for a living.
At least for my shoulders, it worked and had a lot of fun. Doubt it would work for legs, but it worked for arms and shoulders. I did arms so I didn't use tris on rear delts reps, but ended up doing bi's and tri's every day too.
Basically I used the cable machine with not a lot of weight but VOLUME until I can't lift even a light weight. Drop sets. Super set fronts and sides cuz the machine can basically be at the same setting as far as height and swing. Then go to the Smith machine with not a lot of weight. Then some db's flys. Back to the cables for a short burn before I leave.
Not sure why I posted this, but I'm thinking that if you aren't going to go into a show anytime soon, go do what you love to do. Just get ur a$$ in the gym. You feel so much better. I'm sure it's the wrong way to go about it, but it worked for me.
Current cycle...was supposed to pct, but just dropped to 150mg test c/wk and Ipam/modgrf 1-29 right before I workout. Great pumps. Not doing 3 injects a day with peps. Just pinning about 200mcg of each before I leave the house. Gym is about 1 minute from house.
6'ish 230ish. 34"ish waist.
