TRT acne solved with 10mg daily accutane. Should that be effective for a cycle?

Hey guys, I'm on TRT and developed some mild acne on my back/shoulders. 3 weeks ago I started Accutane at 10mg daily, and it's pretty much gone except for marks that are still healing (barely any new ones). I'm about to start a 12 week cycle of 500 test and 500 deca, and I'm wondering if Accutane at this dose will still be effective. Does anyone have experience with low dose accutane? Did it work for a full cycle? I can get more if necessary, but I want to take the least amount that is effective to minimize the sides. After the 12 week cycle, I'll continue back on TRT at 120/week.

I still have some backne from my cycle last month. I will look into it.

Guys, the dose of accutane is based on several factors, one being weight/height. A typical dose is 20mg/day for 6 months. The side effects are increased liver enzymes, cracked lips, dry skin, and in some cases, people have developed ulcerative colitis. A dermatologist will order monthly lab work to check your liver.

Be very careful...I think it's best to consult a physician when doing accutane. IMO

When I was 16, I was put on 40mg/day for several months. At that dose, the side effects were very dry skin especially on my face. I had regular bloodwork done to make sure my liver values were good. They stayed good throughout the 4-5 month usage, so I'm not worried about them when using 1/4th of the dose.

At 10 mg (and I weigh 50 pounds more now), the only thing I've noticed is slightly drier lips. However, I carry chapstick on me 24/7/365 anyway so it doesn't really matter. It's quite a small dose compared to what is normally prescribed in the US. I'm just wondering how much worse acne is from a cycle than from a trt dose. I am hoping a low dose will keep it at bay.

hey man i feel ya, i was on 40mg a day and my acne cleared up totally. i started a cycle and had to quit the accutane because my joints were killing me. i went about three months of it. i would not go over 10 mg on cycle because you will get stronger for sure and the possibility of joint pain will increase dramatically. i was told to do the cycle of accutane before you start the cycle. three months was long enough for me it seems but they recommend 4 or 5 months. i cant see 10 mg hurting much though. keep a close eye on liver enzyme count though. if you do get joint pain skip a dose and see if that helps. if it doesnt, stop the accutane and it will stop after a couple weeks. did for me anyway. hope this helps. the joint pain was there from the start of the accutane for me by the way.

I can't see 10mg per day hurting, or even 20. But I wouldn't use any other orals just incase. Just inject only cycle.

I've been on 3 courses or accutane, biggest be 80mg daily, it depends on how you tolerate the drug. At 80mg per day, I had dry lips, dry skin which is solved with Cetaphl, plus after being on for a few months I'd get the occasional nose bleed....yet blood pressure/bloodwork was always great.

Accutane is a hard-core drug. I took it when I was about 20 years old for 6 months. I haven't had really any acne since but the sides were pretty nasty. It is liver toxic.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Do you think that the low dose will counter a cycle of 500 test / 500 deca? I'm definitely not using any other orals, so that's not a worry. I'm still debating the 500 deca. I'm sure my joints would thank me for it! How much is 500 deca going to help a 500mg test cycle for 12 weeks? Any experience?

When I first jumped on TRT I was on 80mg a day at the 3 months mark then my liver values and cholesterol tanked... 2 months later I was fine..

The dermo did bw on me every month be careful... I was fine at up to 60mg a day though but m a bigger dude 250 lbs.

If for joint help try 100-200mg a week even while on trt helped me
