    Lactose intolerant diet

So I have have come to a conclusion I may possibly be lactose intolerant, I have the symptoms and I notice that it's usually when I eat milk and so on, also I seem to eat all the wrong things and I never gain any weight, I remember somebody once said they had lactose intolerant and once they had a strict lactose free diet they gained weight really quickly,

So am I right in saying clean pasta and rice and pure meat without any breadcrumbs are going to help me gain weight

I'm unsure of what to eat to get energy in the morning since I cannot have cereal, unless oats and lactose free milk are ok?

I make my oats with water. Sometimes soya milk. Nut yes, lactose free milk would seem to be ok as it is lactose free....

The only difference is that you should avoid all milk (and products containing milk) that isn't lactose free.

I have a dairy, soy, peanut allergy and still manage to put on size with the foods they offer these days. Everything you want to have they have made non-dairy. Ie. cheese/cottage cheese/sour cream/milk/chocolate chips etc.

Make your oats with water or use Lactaid milk. I kid you not, it tastes exactly the same as fat free milk. Just make sure to check the labels on all of your groceries.

Try out almond milk as it is lactose free. I personally use the unsweetened vanilla which has no sugar and is only 30 cals per 8oz.

Same here, for mainly the same reasons.

Stuff is pretty tasty in my protein shakes...not so great by itself although, I do like a glass whenever I splurge and have a Quest protein bar.

Sure...or you could just go with lactose-free milk, whey isolate, and whatever else you want.

    Bonaparte,

Does whey isolate not have trace amounts of lactose?

    Thanks

The good ones are lactose-free. And even trace amounts shouldn't cause any issues, unless you're actually allergic to it.

Sucks because milk is an amazing bodybulding/anabolic/nutritionally dense food. I'm also lactose and i love dairy products. Lactaid makes lactose free milk and you can buy generic lactose free milk for cheaper in the super market. You can also by packets of the enzymes or pills and take them when you eat/drink dairy products.
