    B12 Shots giving bruises

Been on TRT for about 2 months now. Also using HCG 3x a week. Recently started B12 injections and I've been getting bruises where I inject it. No bruises for my HCG injections.

Both are in the belly area. I'm wondering if it has to do with the volume. I'm injecting about .2ml for HCG and 1ml for B12. Obviously, the B12 also has a ruby color to it while the HCG is clear. Maybe that has something to do with it as well?

No pain or anything, just the bruises.

    Just wondering.

    Thanks.

bruises means blood trapped under skin, probably due to the amount of injection. go as slow as possible to prevent water jet effect. b12 should be injected IM, I think!

Ah, trying to do it slowly, I guess not going it slow enough.

I was told sub for B12 by the doc.

my doc said the opposite, maybe its the volume you're injecting, 1ml SQ might be too much and that's why you're having a bruise. one area seem to work great for SQ is between your hip bone and thigh joint, there is a really soft fat in that area, no pain, no bleeding, no bruise. something to try next shot.

    question on B12,

i read the one could take oral methyl B12 so long as the dose was 3 time the daily recommended amount eg "They found that daily oral doses of 647 to 1032 micrograms of vitamin B12 appeared to correct the deficiency. The current RDA for vitamin B12 is 3 micrograms per day. Archives of Internal Medicine, May 23, 2005." my dropper is 1000 mcg per ml.

    is this BS?

care to take a wack at it, anyone?

I'll give it a shot (pun intended) today. It's time for my next one. Also will try injecting even slower.

    Thanks.

Tried it in that spot, injected SUPER slowly, still got the bruise.

Have to get some bigger needles if I'm going to inject IM.

    Thanks guys.

You have 2 options, either put half cc per spot, then bruising should go away, OR shoot your delt with a 5/8 length needle, but it hurts more this way.

The problem is you out to much liquid and they area is soft.

    Good luck!

That's sorta what I'm thinking, splitting the shots into 2. Or, just get longer needles and inject IM.

I agree with the above...1cc is just a lot to poke subQ. I was told also to go IM with B12.
I have to ask if you're sure the red color is a bruise? Only because of the dark red nature of B12.

Was wondering about that as well. Could certainly be from the color. It's not painful at all.

I don't think it's the color BC I get the same bruising from Hcg if there is a lot of liquid.
